How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Nothing to dislike.
Perfect location with fabulous views over the harbour. Check in was quick and my suitcase was brought to my room on the top floor.

Noted above.
I was close to the harbor and the room had a balcony and was adequate. I'm sad that the Greek staffs are no longer friendly and warm when I arrive. Everything is very techno centered and the staff who does answer the bell doesn't know enough to be helpful. I do know a bit of Greek and feel like that is just brushed off. My sense is that the islands are inundated with tourists who only care about beaches and not learning the culture of the people. C'est la Vie.

The bed was really terrible but then again ——-the location and view……
Location, location and then the view Just about as good as you could get if you wanted to be in heart of Lipsi. Room is large with v g bathroom and reasonable kitchen area. Property looks to be going through an upgrade which didn’t intrude. Value was great. Good Supermarket next door was very reasonable priced.

Nothing really, could do with a bit of modernisation but it is in keeping with the character of the island
Great location right on the port. Easy access to all the bars, shops and restaurants. Very small island with some lovely beaches all within short drive by hire car/moped

I would have liked a more spacious balcony but I know they are all different sizes at this property and I know to try and request a room with a larger one next time.
Everything was great…..room size, facilities, cleanliness, comfortable beds. Cafe /bar downstairs which was very good in terms of food and prices.

The bath towels were quite scratchy
Good location. Close to restaurants, supermarket, bakery My ferry was due after check-in had closed. I contacted the accommodation and they said that they would stay up and wait, the ferry ended up being late and didn't arrive until 1.30am. They were still waiting for me, which I appreciated

Some details are missing, e.g somewhere to hang your towel in the bathroom. Staff was very noisy at early morning, they woke us up.

Room could be exceptional with a bit more attention to detail and cleanliness. Floor needed a good brush. Staff seemed complacent. Had a problem with the fridge which was replaced but it was obvious the staff knew about it before our arrival.
Great location, large comfortable room, lovely big balcony just needs some tic!

Nothing, it was great.
The room was bigger than expected. It was very affordable and we loved being able to look down on the port. The air con worked well. The decor was simple and clean. When we had a problem with a window shutter it was fixed immediately.

It did say it was beachfront. The outlook is the port.. However, we had a waterfront balcony, which was excellent. We could watch the comings and goings of all the watercraft.

Great location, central to everything. Spacious room which was very well equipped and was airy and cool without needing aircon due to the dual aspect doors and windows. Hot powerful shower and very comfortable beds were a bonus! Good Wi-Fi ( apparently essential these days) Really nice affordable hotel.

Our room had a great large balcony but some had smaller ones.
Location excellent.room good good shower. Great sea view. Everything close by including a great restaurant Pefko and traditional Greek bar next door. Would stay again

The cleaning ladies were pretty loud every morning. The rooms could use a small renovation, especially the beds.
Calypso hotel is located at the heart of the action. Small and quiet as Lipsoi are, you want to be as central as possible. Thankfully, there wasn’t much of noise coming from the neighbour restaurants. The place was clean and our towels were changed pretty often which was nice.
