How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe view of the property was exceptional, waking up and going to sleep seeing and hearing the water was so therapeutic. We loved sitting on the patio playing games, having a glass of wine and looking at the night sky. It was nice to have cleaning service everyday because they always gave us new towels, took out the trash and made the bed.
There was a distinct smell that was a combination of seaweed/salt/sand that is totally normal for a place that is just a couple feet away from the water and used to be a fisherman’s boathouse. There were also plenty of tourists walking by during the day and if you had the door open it was always awkward because they would look into the house. But of course you can’t have the door closed when you’re on the water. Also the pillows were very stiff and hard and somewhat uncomfortable.

Verified reviewWe had a great time in this little fisherman’s house. It is the last one in the village on the right, so you have the best spot to watch the sunset and are not disturbed by neighbors. You can walk to the main restaurant, it’s not cheap and it is better to come early to secure a spot. So if you can buy food elsewhere it’s better. It is better to have a car or ATV to come here. Buses don’t stop nearby. The village is really cute!
It is a famous place to watch the sunset so expect lots of people coming next to your house between 6pm-8pm. Some people have no boundaries and will literally pass in front of you, seat in your house’s chairs, on your stairs etc. So one advice: stand your ground, spread your chairs and put things on front of the house in advance to show it’s occupied. Don’t be afraid to shame people who are trespassing! We had one night out of 3 where we finally could enjoy the sunset peacefully!

Verified reviewBeautiful little town and right on the water
Our room wasn’t fully cleaned when we arrived (someone’s sunglasses case was in the sheets, pills and half drank water bottle on night stand) it was also impossible to get ahold of the host - still haven’t received a message back from my two messages a day ago

Verified reviewHonestly nothing. I was so excited for this place but the host was so rude, the place you couldn’t even enjoy because there’s so many people wanting to take pictures of where you’re staying.
This property is in a touristy spot and was so crowded the view you see in the pictures you’d only be able to see early in the AM. We had 50 people standing in front of our Villa at all times. Even sitting outside people would walk right in front us and stand right in front of us. The host was so so rude. Basically just dumped us there and didn’t want to help with anything and jacked up the prices of the rides. She reached out demanding we give her an answer the night before saying they were about to close and they needed to know if we needed a ride. That was only 10 $ from the port. For some reason when we asked for a ride anywhere else it’s now 30$ and up. The “house keeping” came in and made one bed and didn’t do much. The beds were like sleeping on a rock so so terrible. All in all SO disappointed. Everyone else in Greece were so nice. These people were the rudest I’ve ever met.
We are sorry that your experience was not good. In the small fishing village there is no concept of privacy as we know it in cities. The road passes in front of the houses, which have their doors open . So everyone says good morning and good evening with a smile. Especially at sunset, everyone is outside taking pictures. This is not a problem for many people. However, if someone wants more privacy, this type of house may not suit themIf you ever come to our island again, we will be happy to recommend accommodations that meet your expectations

Verified reviewThe view was unparalleled. It felt remote but not inaccessible. The house is well maintained, and despite what some reviews said I didn’t have a ton of people trying to sit at my table. The water outside is crystal clear. At night you’ll fall asleep to the sounds of waves crashing. The proprietor of the local store is nice, we greeted one another every time we walked by. The town of Klima is just below the town of Trypiti where there are some really amazing restaurants, and you have to stop and check out the Roman theatre, statue of Aphrodite, and the catacombs. The drive down to Klima isn’t too bad during the day, but plan to reverse or stop to allow vehicles to pass you by, as there are a number of areas that aren’t wide enough to pass. I rented a car, I think that was the way to go, as we were fully able to explore at our leisure. We went in the middle of May. The weather is hit or miss for swimming, the water was cold but some afternoons got warm enough to brave a dip.
A few things could definitely be improved to make this place even better. You’ll track a ton of sand into the house, so make sure you leave your shoes at the door. The bed is uncomfortable, but we managed ok. It was getting hot water going for a shower that was the real chore. The property manager who you communicate with was not 100% familiar with how to get the hot water heater going, which meant we had to wait for a handyman to come the following morning. Posted instructions next to the circuit breaker would have fixed the problem, because once everything was switched on properly the water got up to a very hot temperature and lasted that way for a while. To make sure others don’t suffer: the breaker closest to the hot water switch has to be turned on for the hot water heater timer to work. Apparently the property owner had turned it off before we checked in for our trip. Confirming the breaker is on, you’ll set the timer for the hot water heater to work then give it some time to warm up (15 minutes works for us). Plan to finish your shower before that timer flips off.

Verified reviewA very unique experience and magic views. The history associated with the location. Comfortable bed.
Hard to sleep at night from the noise of the water, and a little tricky making your way from the car park to your room especially with luggage.

Verified reviewThe location was fabulous and listening to the water lap at the stones was lovely. The down side was that being the last unit in the row, there were always people camped out in our chairs when we came back.
The person who showed us to our room was rude. He wouldn’t carry my heavy bag, even though he was 40 years my junior because he didn’t want to get his feet wet. I told him we didn’t have data turned on and he texted 5 times to see why we weren’t there yet. There were ants in that covered the sink in the morning👎. The place was generally clean, but the top shelf was covered with dead bugs. It was a lovely place, the management company detracted from the stay. Also, the beds were unbelievably hard.

Verified reviewThe location is perfect for a front row view to watch the beautiful Milos sunset each night. As a bonus, the famous Astakas restaurant is just a short walk away so you have access to amazing food. We really appreciated the air conditioner after a long day in the sun as well as the daily cleaning service that replaced our towels and bedding. The ambiance is truly like nothing other - since the water is right outside the door, you can hear the waves at all times of the day and night.
Because of the remote location that makes this accommodation so unique, accessing it was a little difficult. The walk to the property is not flip flop friendly when carrying your suitcases--Pack light if you can. The water comes up onto the walkway and can be quite slippery. If you are cautious you will be ok. Additionally, I would not recommend arriving for the first time between 6-8PM because the area is very famous and popular for sunsets and there is a lot of traffic down a one-way road to get there. This made our check in a little stressful and frustrating. Overall it was worth it to stay at such an iconic location, however I would take these things into consideration when booking the property.

Verified reviewthe last house in klima (minimal people walking by) and the best spot to take in the epic sunsets. kitchen filled with everything you need, good wi-fi (once we got the code) and good ac — definitely needed! Host also helped us get a rental car which is definitely needed to get here and to explore the island properly.

Verified reviewWe loved our time in Klima on the Waterfront. It felt like such an authentic experience staying in one of the Syrma’s in one of the top touristy spots in Milos. Where many tourists had to drive to see the beautiful village; staying here allowed you to have it all on your doorstep. The apartment was clean, had great facilities such as nespresso and cooking facilities. We really appreciated the host’s help in personally greeting us at the port and directing us to the apartment. They also provided amazing help in getting our cases to the Syrma. The sunsets from here were simply spectacular and we got to witness them with a bottle of Prosecco in our own front yard! There are many syrmas on offer but we really liked that this property was the very end Syrma; it gave that extra bit of privacy that other properties would not give.
Whilst it is an amazing experience to stay in Syrma; and one we would absolutely recommend, we found the touristiness of the village a bit annoying at times. Whilst it was amazing to see the sunset from our own front door; there are around 20-30 people each night who will gather right on your doorstep to watch it as well. This felt slightly invasive of privacy. We also found that the decor was slightly old fashioned. Given it is less than 5m to the sea, it is also hard to keep clean and there are lots of insects but we appreciate this is part of the experience and beyond the owners control. All in all, these are very minor flaws and in no way would prevent us ever returning or recommending here; we just feel it is useful to include as it may put some people off.
