How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

No complaints, really.
Good location, very friendly and helpful staff and volunteers. Clean bathrooms/showers, better than you find in some hostels. A huge step up from the marginal hostel I had just stayed in in Athens. Minutes from the bus station, and right down the street is a little bakery that makes delicious little pastries for 60 cents apiece. A couple of those plus a coffee makes a good cheap breakfast.

Nothing comes to mind.
Vanda was great at checking me in and telling me what was what at the place. Very relaxed vibe and the place is super clean and safe. My bed had a privacy curtain but I still needed eye patches as light came from somewhere. I am also so grateful for being able to leave my bags there while I finished exploring Meteora before catching the afternoon bus. Easy walking distance to town. Air conditioner in the room. Has kitchen, most things there but you might need to check first as not really set up for fancy cooking. Supermarket and restaurants nearby. Tour groups can easily pick you up outside the hostel. I did Meteora Travel Trips sunset tour - great. They picked me up and dropped me off at this hostel. I also did the Nyep bus tour. Need to walk to bus station (5-8mins) and they transported me from monastery to monastery in the morning, but no guide.

Such lovely community! Really generous and warm hosts. I loved the vibe. Everything was clean and easy to navigate. Highly recommend as the best hostel in Kalambaka

Fantastic hostel! Everyone is incredibly friendly and relaxed – from the staff to fellow travellers, and even the whole town has a warm and welcoming vibe. The hostel offers plenty of space, a well-equipped kitchen, and a perfect location for hiking. You’ll always get helpful tips and great advice for any travel plans. Highly recommended!

Amazing stay in the middle of Kalampaka. Beautiful views all around and nice dining places everywhere. The receptionist was welcoming and suggested me the best places to eat and hike. Would love to stay here again.

Great hostel in Meteora! The staff is the kindest ever, they make you feel at home since you step in! The hostel have an amazing toilets, kitchen and peaceful location. The rooms are spacious and clean!

There was just one thing missing: the angels
Where can you be a "holy guest"? Only at "The Holy Rock Hostel". And where can you still meet (in a positive sense) a hostel father like in former times? Also there. His name is Kostas, a helpful caring man. He even brought the new guests to their rooms and introduced them to the others. (In some other hostels guests get their key, find their way to the rooms and when they enter nobody says even "Hello"...) May be hostels with a nice vibe attract also nice guests (or make guests nice). During my 2 nights there I met many nice travellers! I stayed in a 4 bed dorm. There was a lot of space in the room, a table, chairs, even a sofa. The common room is also spacious, The kitchen is well equipped. Everything was clean. And all this for a very reasonable price. Thanks a lot Kostas and staff!!

Around 15 minutes walk from Bus station(Athens to Kalabaka Route). Manageable though.
Room was good. Bathrooms were clean. Near City centre bus station. Host is nice.

Property is clean and well maintained. Kostas (the owner) is incredibly helpful and funny. It is also close to town and shops and you are able to hike to the monasteries from the hostel

I had to leave because my time in Greece was ending :(
Amazing hostel!!! staff took time to give you a map and explain the hikes, nearby things to do, etc. Rooms were big and comfortable with lots of privacy! Rooms, bathrooms, and kitchen stayed clean! Easy to meet others with big common living room and great location in Kalambaka!

A real hostel with a big common lounge, fully equipped kitchen, very spacious dorms. Friendly service and good location only minutes walk from busstation, right in town center at the start of the track to Meteor. Thanks, anytime again 😄

Very cozy. Good location. Easy access to the town center and the bus station to Meteora. People working there were very kind to tell me the tips for travel in Meteora. Stayed in the girl's room. So clean. Bathroom was also allocated for girls. Very nice and chill.
