Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomAir con wasn't great. Place is just out of Imerovigli so have a car or be prepared to walk/bus. We loved the location.
Host George couldn't be more helpful, cleaning was exceptional, pool was lovely but pool furniture unfortunately needs updated or repaired.

United KingdomNothing. I knew I was on the opposite side of the road for the sunsets before I booked, and I researched the facilities and positioning on the island.
I loved the kind attention to detail, delicious breakfast, and very clean surroundings. Also a very comfortable bed!

United KingdomOnly thing I'd say is it's a little bit away from any restaurants and bars, it's approx 25 min walk along the cliff path to Imerovigli which is fine and nice places there! Otherwise would recommend a car or other vehicle to get around the island.
George met us on arrival and explained everything clearly, gave us the keys and an intro to the hotel & the island with recommendations. Good size room and very clean, nice chilled out pool area and just generally a nice hotel. Nothing fancy but everything we wanted & needed. Breakfast delivered to your room every morning was nice. George also helped us with car rental and other assistance which was really appreciated and just in general all the staff were friendly and welcoming.

United KingdomThe hotel is dated and needs a revamp. Breakfast options could be better. The website does not accurately depict the rooms in real life.

United KingdomThe location of the hotel was a bit of a walk to the city centre. There were no local shops you would have walk for a good 20 mins to the local shop.
The staff were amazing, they were helpful and informative. The breakfast every day was wonderful, different choices were available There was always plenty of room at the pool. The hotel was quiet and away from the tourist crowd. Fira and Oia are only 20-30 min away by ca

SpainThe location was not the best (you need a car/moto to move around). The rooms are too bright in the mornings and is not very children friendly (the pool area can be dangerous as the road is just behind and there are no fences)
The room, decoration and the staff are nice

Hong KongYou better have a car if u live in this hotel. If you want to go to Fira, the closest bus stop is in imerovigli where u need to want 30mins from the hotel, but the view along this path is very beautiful~ if u come back by bus, that would be better, u can take the bus in Fira toward Oia, and get off in KTEA bus stop, then u only need to walk 10-15mins along the road ( no see view).
Quiet and chill~ the room and the pool is clean. Hotel staff and owner are nice~

MauritiusEverything was perfect. Only 1 recommendation the honeymoon suite balcony if it can be covered by a shade as early sunrise is direct sun. Maybe only a simple parasol can work.
Golden East is a hidden gem. It had spectacular view, very nice room with all amenities. It was cleaned daily. Breakfast served every morning. The staff were awesome since before joining and until we left. They made taxi arrangements from and to the airport and even looked for a car rental. We had a short time and they booked a luxury semi private cruise.Awesome and highly recommended.

CanadaHotel is located on a busy road. It was necessary to walk along the road to find an entrance to get to the trail which connects the villages. We did not get much direction from hotel staff as to where was best to join the trail. On our last day we found a side trail which took us to a driveway right next to the hotel, wish we had been told about it by staff. Approximately 15 min walk along the road to get to the bus stop. This location might be best for someone who is renting a car. We did not rent a car, walked a lot and utilized both taxis and the bus.
Beautiful view. Nice small hotel, quiet. Nice pool. Nice breakfast with lots of choices served to your own patio. About a half hour walk along the trail to get to the nearest village, Imerovigli. This is a beautiful walk with incredible views if the caldera. At times we called for a taxi, and always had a quick response for pickup.

United KingdomAlthough breakfast is provided there is no restaurant on site and no pool bar as advertised on web site. There is a taverna approx 200m away and the town of Imerovigli is about a mile away along the cliff path or busy road. Although taxis are available they are expensive and we decided to hire a car as otherwise would have felt isolated being here for a week. if you are staying for two/ three days and just want to see the main town and Oia this may not be so important. we frequently went to Kamari which is a twenty minute drive for beach and choice of bars/ restaurants. Be aware that the bedroom is a mezanine floor accessed by a narrow spiral staircase which may not be suittable for those with any physical impairment.
The room was comfortable and full of character in keeping with local style of building. As there were only seven rooms at the hotel, service was very personal and friendly. Very quiet and calm. Breakfast served every morning to room with wide choice was great. Great views to the east of the island and about a 200 yd walk to the Caldera view. Maria was extremely helpful and very pleasant

United StatesWe were having trouble with getting hot water in our room - this was a recurring problem and we couldn’t shower as thoroughly as we would have liked.
The property is beautiful overlooking the Aegean Sea to the east - making for some spectacular sunrises. The breakfast was also very good - they have you fill out a form each day to preorder what you want. the Greek yoghurt is a must have! The host was also exceptionally helpful! Always ready to help answer our questions through WhatsApp even after she has left the property!

SwitzerlandNothing really... The street adjacent to the property can get a bit noisy at times and so does the barking dog across the street. But these are minor points that we didn't mind too much in the end and after knowing what's to be found on the island.
We liked the fact that the location of our accommodation was away from the tourist crowds... you just need to make sure that you have a car or motor bike in order to be mobile. Nataly, our host was fantastic and such a nice and kind person. She definitely is the soul of this place.
