Trully a place that is part of the history of Chania! A wonderful place that pictures do not do justice! I fell in love with every little detail! I hold a very soft place to my heart for Fagotto as it echoes the past in a unique way. Thank you for our stay!

Vacation ended too quickly! We want to go back!

After spending some time in the gorgeous historic city of Chania, we learned that there is 'old Chania' and then there is 'really old Chania'! Fagotto Art Residences is located in this very historic part of the city that is closed to vehicular traffic. For those of us who love history and understanding more about how people lived in bygone times, this part of town is exceptionally magical! The building itself dates back hundreds of years, but the apartment had all the modern conveniences plus a beautiful, spacious terrace that was perfect for evening drinks. Also, the location was an easy walk to a very nice beach and there were many excellent restaurants, groceries, and other shops within a few steps. We couldn't have asked for a better experience, also because the Mata and Irina always go the extra mile to help their guests feel at home.

We very much enjoyed our two-day staying in this special place in the heart of Chania. The building whispers historical and cultural stories through its walls, and only a few steps away from it, you find yourself in the romantic port of the city, where the old meets the modern. We got everything we needed at the property and the atmosphere was charming while listening from bed, in the evening, with the open windows, to the good, not too loud music coming from the nice jazz bar downstairs. Our full of gratitude thoughts go to Mata, the owner of Fagotto, a special person with a warm heart and good taste, who became the guardian angel of our whole trip in Crete. Since we did not have a made-up plan for any of the 3 days and nights that followed, she suggested us beautiful locations to accommodate, excelent places to eat like the locals do and splendid beaches to visit, less crowded and less known by tourists. We kept in touch with her for the next days, and we sincerely admit that our trip to Crete wouldn’t have been so memorable without her. Her recommendations met exactly our preferences. Thumbs up for Fagotto Art Residence, a romantic place to stay in the very centre of lovely Chania.

Just to note there were two flights of stairs to the apartment without handrails and obviously more to roof terrace but with rails. On entry to the apartment there was no handrail or protection at the top to prevent falling from the bedroom. Not a problem for us and apartment unlikely to be booked by anyone with small children. We kept stair light on during night just in case.

A lovely quiet spot right off main area. Could see the sea from our roof terrace and there was a balcony too. Lovely airy room decorated in soft grey with shutters on the windows and air conditioning. Good walk in shower. Irene on reception and the cleaner were lovely, friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was excellent in a lovely cafe on the harbour front just a few minutes away.

The only downside was the very weak Wi-Fi, which could definitely be improved.

Just steps away from everything, our room was spacious, tastefully renovated, and fully functional, featuring a lovely veranda. The staff were exceptionally polite, and everything was spotless. A truly pleasant and comfortable experience.

The location is fantastic. The only negative side is the size of the toilet and shower.

I had a bit of a health issue and they helped me with getting the medication.

The people were kind and welcoming. The location was magical in the narrow streets of the old town and a minute to the beautiful harbour. The apartment “Largo” (thank you for the upgrade) on the 2nd floor was delightful with its rooftop terrace to soak up the winter sun and enjoy evening drinks. There was so much space in the apartment with 2 huge rooms a kitchen and a bathroom. The bed was super comfortable. The little treats were delicious and very generous. I could happily live there forever. A bonus was the Fagotto bar under the property. We didn’t think it was open because we couldn’t hear anything but when we went in we found a delightful stylish and vibrant bar. Even though it was off season, the offer to keep the room for the day and leave our bags was incredibly kind and helpful.

The bathroom is tiny. It wasn’t a problem for me but it could be for some people. The bar downstairs is quite loud. I’ll have to join next time. Also be aware parking is down the street.

The room was funky and old and had a great view and vibe. The proprietor added special touches and gave me a free upgrade to a larger room which which was really nice. I thoroughly enjoyed my afternoon walking and photographing the neighborhood and waterfront as well as enjoying a wonderful dinner of mussels and a glass of wine.

It would be quite a small space for 2 people if you were staying more than 2 nights. The coffeemaking/fridge area is small, and its not conducive to have meals in your room so that means you are eating out 3x a day

Location in the old town amongst the cafes was great. Only a couple of blocks from the sea, and away from the busiest part where all the tourists circulate

The one thing that the owners can't control is that the accommodation is on the ground floor, on a really lovely street. There were a bunch of wandering tourists outside taking selfies throughout the day, so with the curtains pulled open, we lost a little bit of privacy. Again, it's not the owner's fault. If you're a more private person, you might want to opt for one of the rooms on the upper floors.

We loved the size of the room. There was a sleeping area with a bed, a nice bathroom and an area for relaxing on a sofa and a table with chairs near the window for having a meal. The décor of the room was modern and trendy with soft colors, so it was perfect. The location of the accommodation was in an interesting and popular area, but a little bit off the main pedestrian street, which allowed for a more peaceful experience. We were checked-in by Irene who is a darling and paid attention to us and got us situated, even though there were pushy tourists trying to interrupt her during our check-in process. I can't really complain about anything. The room came equipped with dishes and toiletries, so we weren't in need of anything while we were there.
