DILINO was advertised correctly. My request was very short notice. A matter of hours due to cancelled flight to another location. This is a family business. Niko (son) was excellent and responsive. We got through the language barrier using an mobile app. Niko's happy smiley face and eagerness to help was a massive bonus. Papa stands guard and reminds me it is 25Euros if I lose my room key! Room was basic and spacious for my needs. TV with Netflix/Amazon/YouTube etc. Shower room with loo, ample toiletries, clean towels and clean bedding. Safe in room. WiFi was perfect. No dropped signals. The other big bonus was the excellent quiet air-conditioning unit in this very hot weather. 5* for that. LOCATION The location could not be more central and close to the beach. Literally within 2 mins max. A great find in the more expensive accommodation part of town. DILINO is right around corner from the main beach stretch with it's numerous high end quality indoor-outdoor restaurants and bars. Also near a zillion smaller more local restaurants and bars in the side streets. If you are looking for budget economy right in the place to be and happy to accept something basic to meet your sleeping needs then room 3 is what works. I did not see other rooms, so I cannot comment on how they rate compared to the room I had. Taxi service provided there and back for 25 Euros each way. I am sure there are cheaper, but these I used turned up on time and were most helpful. I'll be back.

Dilino has everything I need to enjoy beautiful Santorini! - great location (minutes from famous black sand beach, restaurants, bars, shops, transport) - comfortable beds, aircon, fridge, hairdryer - clean and tidy - very hospitable people running the hotel

Rooms were filthy and smelled mold in a way that you couldnt spend one night there, dirty walls, stains on the bedsheets and pillows, dirty floor in the bathroom. No dishes in the kitchen. It was not possible to get fresh air to the room. Communication - no information from the owner, wi-fi, which didn't work. He changed our first room which was disasterous for another one which smelled mold again. He was arrogant, refused to solve the situation in any way and rejected any discussions. He doesnt speak English, only Greek.

The guy named Nikos did not understand or speak English well so we couldn’t understand what he was saying. Lots of confusion was going on and we were forced to book other hotel. They were very rude and disrespectful of customers’ time. I don’t recommend anyone booking at the hotel. Their rating was low for a reason!

Staff! ( Except the lady who cleaned rooms and changed towels) On our last day they wrote to me at 5,30 am, woke me up for nothing and didn't even say "Sorry" when I inquired what this had been about. Most of the time there was nobody at the premises, and even if they were - they didn't speak English. The furnishing of the room is a barely working fridge, two beds, a rickety desk and two chairs. Ah, and an electric kettle, but NO CUPS so you still can't make yourself any hot drinks :( PS After I wrote this review I received some unpleasant messages from Nico - threats and insults and demands that I "give him 8" - He didn't know I can edit this ? :)

Wish there was breakfast and it does get noisy at night but it's on a busy street so it's expected.

We booked a room with Nikos, for 7 nights. Communication with Nikos was transparent and clear right since the beginning. He showed his availability and gave us all the information we needed. The room matched the description we had read. Although it was a basic room, we received maximum care, the towels were changed very often and cleaning service was made every day. Dilino is located in a very nice place on the island, with a beautiful promenade and many shops and restaurants. From there, it is possible to reach every other area of ​​the island and it is just 10 minutes from the airport. Nikos and his family are nice people and made us feel at home. Nikos in particular is a smiling and always loving guy. We recommend this place.
