Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe hotel and general facilities were quite basic. The cleanliness wasn't up to high standard, although it wasn't dirty. The bathroom was very small and very basic. I think it just needs updating a little.
The hotel was in a gorgeous location, overlooking the sea and right by the beach. The pool was nice and quiet, so no rush to get a sun lounger. Breakfast was nice.

SpainThere are five things I did not like: 1 - the breakfast was not at the level of a four stars hotel (as mentioned above) 2 - after breakfast (and until breakfast the following day) there are no facilities to get a coffee (coffee machine or whatever) or a water dispenser (the tap water is fine but the flavour is not optimal)... again, a four stars hotel should have these facilities at hand 3 - the wifi is not good at all; when reported, the owners mentioned that when everybody is connected the wifi runs very slowly or it is interrupted... again, if you pay rates of a four star hotel you would expect broadband internet (I know we are talking about a Greek island and the problems of providing internet in such a place but we are also talking about a well advanced XXI century we are living in) 4 - the hot water in the shower takes ages to come through the tap (one has to wait several minutes for this to happen) 5 - the are two access ways to the hotel, a longer and a shorter way; the shorter (quite convenient if walking to Hersonissos town) is very dusty, chalky, not paved, and your shoes get very dirty with white powder when choosing to use this way (it is like walking on the Moon!)
Breakfast was Ok although its variety was not typical of a four stars hotel (and, for example, the bread was not fresh every morning). It is a very relaxing accommodation and the swimming pool was brilliant. Another good asset is the independence you get when you settle in, i.e., you get your key and it is like using your own house.

FranceWe had an amazing weekend staying at the hotel thanks to the very nice manager who was here to help us. It was my mom’s first time in Crete and even though we booked a garden room the manager was very kind to offer us a sea view room as a present to my mom. Moreover the hotel feels very private and the pool is very large and cosy.

You are truly surrounded by ocean. A genuine feel of getaway vacation. Above all, the wonderful and lovely reception of the owner with so much hospitality and useful travel tips. United StatesThere is no restaurant on the premises, but there are more than enough nice places to eat in walking distance. The sheets seemed a bit small for the bed. So we had a hard time keeping them on. Maybe fitted sheets would help. The beaches nearby are rather hard (or 'adventureous') to reach. The coastline is rocky, and the staircases are old and a bit worn down, but once you get down to the beach, it's lovely. They are rather small, and they can get crowded, so get there early.
The views and location to beach are wonderful! The hotel is situated on adead-end road, so it's very quiet. The owner, George, runs the place with his mom and dad. They are lovely people. It almost feels like you're staying with friends. The pool is big, the rooms are nice and clean. The breakfast is basic but very good and includes great Greek specialties! There are several small beaches nearby that are lovely. The hotel location is great if you want some peace and quiet.

United KingdomAlthough the accommodation was nice it was starting to show its age a little and could have done with a little updating. I know it's a silly gripe but the sink in the bathroom was at about knee height. Also many of the pictures in the listing didn't reflect the actual rooms
The breakfast was good without being great but had a decent selection and was kept nice and fresh. The pool was great. Lovely and clean and even though the resort was pretty full with all the pretty little beaches so close by we almost had it to ourselves. The room was a decent size without being spacious and could have done with a little updating but all in all a pleasant place to stay and suitably comfortable. Our hosts were AMAZING. Extremely friendly and welcoming, full of advice and a source of great restaurant and destination recommendations. Would return in a heart beat.

BahamasThe staff was really friendly and helped us a lot. The place was clean and located close to the beach. It is a bit far away from the city of Heraklion but close to a small ville center so you still can get around and buy stuff if you are into that. I highly recommend it.

United KingdomCan't think of anything.
We stayed here for 10 nights, great hotel, staff and location and kept us fit! ( Not suitable for anyone with mobility issues) The rooms were very spacious and wonderful sea views with a balcony, just as we'd asked for. Clean towels at least every other day, clean sheets twice for a 10 night stay. ALL the staff were so friendly and helpful. We loved the buffet breakfast and dinners, very difficult to cater for everyones taste, so well done 😋 The pool was just what was needed after a hard day at the beach or sightseeing! Only drawback was not many tavernas in walking distance. All in all a great place, would thoroughly recommend!👍

TurkeyThe bottom ‘economy’ room’s WiFi does not work. You have to go down to the pool area to get some. There is a TV in the room, but without internet it is just decoration. Cleaning was average, but even though I am bald, I find long hairs in the room and bathroom. The sound insulation of the ‘economy’ room is terrible. You hear every single water and toilet sound from the upstairs. Also, the room gets no sunlight at all. When we open the door for sunlight, we get attacked by mosquitoes because there is no spraying or protection at all. Late arriving guests do not follow the no-noise rule, people might get up their sleeps. There is no clear information about the pool depth. It goes down to 2.5 meters, which is not suitable for people who can’t swim.
The location and landscaping. Well, to be honest I booked here because of the high reviews. But since we booked the ‘economy’ one, nothing was as perfect as in the previous reviews

RomaniaThe cleaning service was very delayed and unprofessional, and the interior was not clean to begin with. The bathroom was terrible, with the toilet breaking down daily and no toilet paper provided. The place was generally very dirty and smelled strongly of damp and mold. The rooms were extremely old, with worn-out furniture, torn and wrinkled bed sheets, dirty mattresses, and towels stained with blood and yellow marks, making them unpleasant to use. The pool was dirty, with green deposits along the edges and murky water – it clearly hadn’t been cleaned properly. The showers by the pool were rusty. The staff was mostly absent and unable to provide much help when needed. The rooms were also full of dust; any cleaning done seemed to be only superficial, just for appearance’s sake. Overall, the accommodation felt neglected and unhygienic.
The location was excellent, very close to a truly stunning beach – in fact, the most beautiful beach in the whole area. The property also had a fairly large parking area, which was convenient.

Israel"A Masterclass in How to Wreck a Holiday" If you’ve ever thought, “I wonder what it would be like to pay for a holiday and still feel like an unwanted houseguest,” then congratulations — you’ve found the perfect place. On arrival, I made the rookie mistake of asking George (the owner/comedian) for a towel, a glass, and a kettle. His response? That I was “too much trouble for the first day.” Charming start. Later, he informed me that I was incredibly lucky to have booked two months early. I can only imagine the fate of those who booked three. Need a clothes dryer? Prepare for wisdom worthy of Aristotle: “I have four hotels, you have none.” One wonders if he delivers this line in all four. The “room upgrade” is a fairy tale. All economy rooms are carbon copies of each other. The only thing that changes is your willingness to believe George. Housekeeping? There are precisely two cleaners for the entire hotel. If you return before 5 p.m., you’ll find the room untouched. By 6 p.m., they might get around to changing towels and rationing shampoo like it’s 1943. On Sundays, service vanishes entirely — perhaps the cleaners are in one of George’s other three hotels. Lighting is a luxury here. Ask for a bulb to be replaced and you’ll be branded a “prima donna.” So your evening will be spent in atmospheric pitch darkness, perfect for cultivating night vision. Hand soap doesn’t exist in this universe. I resorted to decanting some from the public toilets. Shampoo appears every other day — possibly delivered by carrier pigeon. And yes, this is the entire duration of your stay, not just a bad Monday. The bathroom sink is installed at an athletic 65 cm from the floor, so every wash feels like training for the World Championship in Competitive Squatting. The safe? Don’t even try. The key has been “lost by other guests at the beach” — and apparently remains at large. Credit where it’s due: breakfasts are genuinely good.
