How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

From the area where the sunbeds are located, you can't go directly to the sea because of slippery and dangerous rocks; you have to walk for a while. They are understaffed, and the service to the beach is insufficient.

If I had to be picky the shower in the room we were given did not have a bracket to hang the shower head on so it was difficult holding onto it to shower and wash your hair all at the same time. Also definitely need new sun beds they were worn and uncomfortable wooden slats hurt your back.

Verified reviewLocation was great! The breakfast in the morning was good But don’t show up at 10:01 the coffee machine is shut down at 10 sharp!
The beds are hard and the pool loungers are very uncomfortable. I’ve never stayed in Europe where I haven’t had a way to make coffee in my room or heat water. No water given must be purchased and coffee is charged if after 10.

Referring to your remark for coffee and tea facilities in your room, we would like to remind you that four and five star hotels, apartments or villas are obligated by the law to have coffee and tea facilities. That is why they are more expensive. Also, in the whole Santorini island and in most Cycladic islands water is not drinkable and all people have to buy drinkable water. Coffee during breakfast is served in the breakfast room and it is free but as in all hotels after breakfast is payable, except at all inclusive rates. It is better before making a reservation to check the facilities offered and proceed accordingly to your needs. Also, you may ask for something during your stay. The balcony was very small and in general the room was small. The sound proofing could be better and the water system was noisy.

Verified reviewThe location is second to none. The staff are very welcoming and friendly, the amount of repeat guests showed that the care about their guests too. The pool is a nice size, and hidden a bit more than other properties along the promenade. They sorted out taxis for us to visit local restaurants. They were really helpful when the taxi firm we booked didn't tell us where to meet the vehicle, the staff knew exactly where it would be. A wonderful stay in an excellent location.
There wasn't anything that we didn't like. It was a short, weekend break, that suited us to perfection.

Verified reviewWe arrived at Arion Bay as they just opened up for the spring/summer season. Our rooms were upgraded to Sea View with a lovely balcony. The staff were attentive and tried to make our stay pleasant as they finished renovations. The atmosphere was relaxed and one could make use of the free sun beds by the beach. We enjoyed our stay.

Verified reviewFantastic hosts. The hotel is a family run establishment in a great location near the amenities in Kamari, and has a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. All of the staff were exceptionally kind and accommodating, especially the owner Illyas and his daughter Eleneya. The breakfast was great (though they did occasionally run out of scrambled eggs!), and the room had fantastic views over the pool and to the beach. Highly recommended.
Water pressure in shower was temperamental but this was a minor issue.
