Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomOur stay was amazing from start to finish. The hotel feels like stepping into a museum The hotel is unlike any other we've visited. It's full of character and charm, making it a truly special place to stay. Our room was spacious and had a fantastic view over the lake But what made our stay truly exceptional was the friendly and helpful hosts. They really went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Since we stayed during a quieter time, we got to enjoy the boutique-style experience without the crowds, and at a great price too. Overall, we highly recommend for anyone looking for a unique and memorable stay that you just can't get at regular hotels.

BelgiumNothing really.
Beautiful house , very tasteful decoration and a beautiful view of the lake. The breakfast is fantastic. The place is quiet and there are some good restaurants in the direct neighbourhood. The room has beautiful traditional furniture and is really cosy. The room is very spacious. We admire the creatvity of the owner who succeeded to combine antiques with well hidden modern bathrooms. We will come back!

United KingdomThe bathroom was small. it took some time for hot water to come on. The hotel perhaps could have been better sign-posted from the coast road below. That's all!
The location is superb - tranquil with tons of perspective - especially of the lake and the promenade as well as other historic buildings in the vicinity. The wooden-floors and plain walls have a calming effect. By Greek standards breakfast was ample and varied. The staff with whom I dealt, Artemie, Marina and Othon were gracious and helpful. My glasses got broken on my second day and Artemie offered to lend me his own pair which, after some reluctance, i accepted. Othon gave me worthwhile tourist material on Kastoria which was impossible to find in the town. Incidentally, there are some excellelnt restaurants very near, Palia Poli being a stand-out.

United KingdomThere a couple of things that are down to opinion, and for me, the decor made everything feel dark and the reception was unmanned throughout so there was no one to speak to if you need anything. The bathrooms in this hotel are not acceptable, and in my view, they should close the rooms until they have restructured the space to make them bigger. I am a tall slim man, and I could not use the toilet, the shower or the sink, because I couldn’t fit in there. When trying to use the toilet, I could not stand far enough back because of the sink. If you try to sit, your knees are in the air because of the sink. The shower is low slung and in a ‘half bath’ because the gap is only about 3ft. I could not stand in it, or sit in it. While trying to stand in front of the sink, the back of your legs are pressed up against the toilet. I’ve stayed in hundreds of hotels around the world but I have never seen bathrooms like this. They are not poor quality, they are just not fit to be used. The furniture is old, which is nice to look at, but the bed is very hard and the layout of the room not very practical. Be aware that it is also up a very steep hill and not suitable for anyone with mobility issues.
It is a beautiful old manse on the top of the hill up from the lake. Views were slightly obstructed, but were across the lake and were pretty. The decor inside is dark wood throughout, with rooms on the ground floor, first floor, and a breakfast area downstairs in a basement. Breakfast was pastries, bread, cheese, yoghurt, jams, juice, cereal and eggs. The coffee was really poor quality but everything else was fantastic.

GreeceThe bathroom was tiny. The toilet was leaking, therefore most of the times the bathroom floor was wet at some parts of it. Shower would be a better fit on this bathroom than a bathtub. Also the matress was very hard
The room was big and comfortable. The staff was very polite and helpful and the breakfast very nice.
