Everywhere was clean- born communal and private areas. We were allowed to use the shower after check out as our flight was late and everything was spotless. The staff couldn’t do enough for you.

A point for improvement: the breakfast. Every day you select your breakfast options for the next morning from a buffet style list of foods and drinks. Everything is well prepared and tasty but it gets repetitive after a while since the options are limited and always the same. A breakfast menu would be a better option to serve food of higher quality and flavour while limiting food waste; and would be more appropriate considering the hotel's boutique vibe. I would also expect the orange juice to be freshly squeezed. I took off a point for the breakfast.

I traveled with a female friend and we loved our stay. The staff is extremely accommodating, friendly, happy to share travel tips and small talk. The rooms are spacious, functional and well decorated, all rooms have a small terrace and are cleaned thoroughly daily. The pool area is super well maintained and relax. I can confirm the reviews that say the shower water temperature is spotty, however I hate showering cold and I was never able to not shower; one time I had a lukewarm shower and one time I had to wait for the water to warm (we stayed 8 days). The sea is walking distance away, and if you follow the coast towards Chersonissos you come across some very nice small beaches like Anissaras beach (10min walk) and Saradari beach (30min walk). The location is 10min from Chersonissos with car; the hotel has free parking in front and car rental (if booked in advance) is very affordable in Crete, and a necessity if you want to see some of the beauty the island has to offer. The roads are well maintained. Aqua Blu is the perfect location for couples looking for peace and quiet, who are happy to drive a car to explore Crete and to go dine out (the 2-3 restaurants in the hotel area are not recommended). The staff will be happy to assist in making the most of your stay here!

First time staying at Aqua Blu and our stay was perfect in every way. Janus and Debbie made us feel very welcome and went out of their way look after us. The rest off the staff we met were equally helpful, freindly , and genuinely good people, thanks Marco , Vienetta and Nicco ,you all are huge assets to the hotel and we feel we have made friends for life. The hotel itself was very modern and super comfortable, with a chill atmosphere any time of the day. Perfect for a relaxing holiday with no noisy bars or hotels nearby. The amenities were excellent, food and service superb and location perfect. There is a small beach 5 mins walk from the hotel. Hersonissos only 10 min taxi (€10) if you want some nightlife which has a great strip. 20 min drive from Heraklion airport and very easy to get to. We had a car which was €160 to rent for the week, nice to have to travel around to the sites, but not nessasary as there are day trips that pick up in Hersonissos. Safe off street parking avaliable at the hotel. There is so much to do in crete, we were there for a week and went to so many awesome sites, but simply didn't have time to cover all. Two weeks or a min of 10 days would have been better. In summary we would highly recommend Aqua blu as an awesome choice for a holiday, not one bad word to say about our experience, thank you Aqua-Blu we will be back for sure!!

Nothing I can think about. One should know that you need to go a few miles to get to the various tourist locations.

The breakfast had fresh fruit, vegetables, all locally grown. One chose the breakfast options and time the evening before. The options are healthy and diverse. They serve the food in a garden setting, and make eggs to your liking. The view from our balcony of the ocean was beautiful. It was easy to walk to the beach and the stores there, as well as the local town. It is a bit off the big tourist towns in Crete, so it is a quiet location to enjoy peace and rest. However, the tours we went on picked us up from near the hotel, and we got on the "train on wheels" (like an open air bus) to get to the nearby towns. The service provided by the staff is outstanding.

Very well designed for relaxing everything you could want. Staff great really looked after you good breakfast great pool area comfortable bed in nice room with sea/pool view. Only 20mins from airport.

As there is no restaurant on site, it would be good if the bar snacks were available for longer (currently bar snacks stop at 6pm).

One bit of advice I think would be to have a hire car… there are some shops and beaches within walking distance but if you want to go a bit further taxis are quite expensive.

The property was beautifully decorated and very clean. The staff were above and beyond nice and made you feel like family. I would highly recommend this place.

Overall, this place was of standout higher quality than most places we've stayed, and we've travelled extensively. If I was going to nitpick, then I'd say there should be instructions for the coffee machine (watching my husband fighting with it was amusing) and maybe some Nescafe in the room as well as the coffee pods. The bedside cabinets are attractive, but we missed having a drawer to put our underwear and odds and ends.

We arrived late at night to a cheerful welcome from Marco, who carried my case to our room and ran through our breakfast options. Had a drink at the very well stocked bar before getting into the extremely comfy bed (2 pillows each, both of different types so you can choose what you want), popped our bottled water in the fridge, put on the very quiet air conditioning and had a great nights sleep. Breakfast is between 8am and 11am, and you pick your food choices and time the night before. We stayed a week & used both of the 2 seating areas. Service was always cheerful, prompt and the food varied & delicious. If you wanted anything extra you just had to ask. The whole place is absolutely spotless, there was a sirocco dust storm whilst we were there and the next morning you would not have known that it had happened, the whole place was gleaming again. I'm not keen on cold water but my husband enjoyed a swim in the pool and it was nice using the sunbeds around the pool to relax and read, with Marco at the bar ensuring we had all the drinks we needed. We hired a motorbike and found especially that east toward Elounda area was nice, there are some countryside roads around there, and some lovely small towns to visit, both inland and on the coast. From the hotel, turn right toward the beach, its a 10 minute walk to several restaurants (We ate at Sunset Bar 3 times and found it excellent, and Mylos further down was ok though the wine was a bit rough) If you want a longer walk, Manos Taverna is about a 45min walk. Its a bit pricier but the food and wine were good. Hersonissos old town is a 1hr walk. We got a taxi back for 15 euro. Big shout out to the staff at the Hotel for making my husbands 60th and our silver wedding anniversary so lovely, the little surprises spanned 2 days and made everything so special and memorable. Marco is a gem with useful information for trips and suggestions, and all the other staff were just lovely.

We were greeted by Debi, who was warm, friendly and so welcoming. We arrived a few hours earlier than check in time, and were offered the opportunity to start using the facilities whilst we waited for our room to be ready, our room was ready before the check in which was a real bonus. All of the staff were friendly, and couldn’t do enough for us. The hotel is really clean and modern , and the breakfast was delicious with so much choice. The sun terrace and pool were lovely, never any problem getting a sunbed. Great choice of drinks and snacks at the pool bar.

The property provides excellent quiet comfort. The facilities are very clean and well-maintained. The pool area is beautiful and not very busy, which is very nice. Sarantari beach, Hersonissos, and Old Town Hersonissos are very close to the property. The hosts were extremely friendly and provided excellent recommendations. Would love to come back!

This is a amazing find. Very clean and modern. The staff were so lovely. We missed breakfast one day due to waking up late and when we got to the pool the staff came to us and offered food so we weren’t hungry. This hotel is 5 minute walk from the beach where there are plenty of shops and restaurants . The hotel is tucked away and private which is quiet at night with no noise. The hotel looks how it does in the pictures and if not better ! Hotel is 10 mins to Heraklion old town by car and 10 mins to the strip too! Very happy with location

Everything😀 Beautiful, very very clean, beds amazing, so modern rooms. Best shower ever. Swimming pool so clean and comfortable. Sunbeds, the bar/snacbar with awesome Marko, who always acts and serves guests as his best friends. Debe and Janni the owners are amazing hosts, taking care of you 24/7. The most happiest and caring persons. Debe is an amazing and caring and beautiful woman - always watching out for the guests. “Hi, how are you today, can I bring you something” and a minute later she’s back treating you. So warn like the whole staff. We will go back, simply because we had such a pleasant and different vacation by staying at Aqua Blue. In the beginning we were a little shocked because of the location - but it took a day to find out how comfortable and nice it was. We took taxi (the staff always took care of that) to the main street (5-8 minutes) with hundreds of restaurants- amazing restaurants. The taxi always 10 euros. It was kind of hard to leave and say goodbye to the staff and we felt we were leaving a little family.

We chose this hotel for our honeymoon and it could not have been better. The staff is super friendly and did everything to make our stay as amazing as it was. The breakfast was fantastic. The beach and some restaurants are only a short walk away too so we didn't think it is necessary to rent a car. We are very happy and would recommend this hotel to everyone! And a big thank you to the amazing staff!

This is a little heaven for those looking for relaxation, a perfect place with beautiful owners, I booked this hotel for my birthday and I absolutely enjoyed it, I received a cake and a drink as a gift, I felt special!! it was unexpectedly nice, they think about everyone in a special way ! I will definitely be back :)
