Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe hotel could do with a bit of an update to some of its common areas.
The setting was lovely. It was great for us that there was a vegan restaurant on site and we enjoyed the meals there. The all inclusive breakfast was also fine. There is a lovely swimming pool and we enjoyed the free yoga class and mini-golf.

Moldova-
The room was comfy and the cleaning lady was stopping by everyday. The food was great and diverse! Every evening we had a different cuisine presented to us: Greek, Asian, Mexican, Cretan, etc. We picked the "all inclusive" package and at Apollonia "all inclusive" means ALL INCLUSIVE. The staff was really nice and helpful, especially the guy at the bar called Manolis. We really appreciated the live evening concerts! Ideal for people who want to relax in a calm and relaxing environment. I highly recommend the spa services, I chose a facial treatment and a back massage which were really nice. Ask for an appointment with Vasiliki, you will love her!

United KingdomNothing much I can add to previous reviews so just a quick note re buses. To get to town or onwards to the airport you need to get bus number 1. To return from the airport or town you need bus number 6. Both stop just outside the hotel. You can by tickets in the hotel shop of for about a euro extra you can buy them on the bus.

LithuaniaThere is a power plant with large chimneys very close to the hotel. While it's not visible from the hotel grounds, it's quite noticeable from the beach. This is an issue not just for this hotel, but for the entire region. It's disappointing that such a facility was built near these beautiful beaches. Occasionally, depending on the wind direction, you can smell the fumes from the plant, especially in the evening and at night when electricity demand peaks. Some hotel rooms have a direct view of the power plant chimneys, which can be quite a spoiler. We were initially given such a room and had to request a change. Fortunately, they accommodated our request the next day, but it did cause some discomfort. The new room had a wonderful garden view that we really enjoyed. The photos of the rooms on the website were misleading or incorrect, which led us to make a wrong decision about the room type. The sea water can be very cold, and I mean really cold! I regret that I did not believe previous comments about this issue. There is a small river with extremely cold water flowing into the sea. Because fresh water is lighter than salty sea water, it stays on top, making swimming unpleasant. This is less of an issue when the weather is windy, but on calm days or when the wind blows from the river, swimming can be quite uncomfortable unless you are not sensitive to cold water. Luckily, we had favorable wind conditions for most of our stay, so it didn't affect us too much. Additionally, there are rocks at the water's entry point, which can make it difficult or even impossible for older people or kids to enter the sea.
The hotel has a rich history and over time, they have cultivated a stunning garden with a variety of trees and palms, each with small information tables that enhance the experience. The food was amazing; we thoroughly enjoyed dining at both the main restaurant/buffet and the poolside cafeteria. The buffet offered a diverse selection of high-quality, tasty dishes, including Cretan specialties. The pool cafeteria served excellent fast food, including Greek options, which the kids loved. The hotel's beach was right next to the property, and we never had any trouble finding a spot there. We also enjoyed dining at the on-site Greek restaurant located by the sea, which offered fantastic food. Overall, it was a pleasure to use the bars and terraces and to watch events in the open-air amphitheatre.

AustraliaWe found it odd that the pool didn’t open until 10am and the kids slide was only open for a few hours in the day. This is a very large resort with limited sun lounges for the amount of people.
The kids enjoyed the slide when it was open. Breakfast was a good mix of food. Restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful!

GreeceOur room was located next to the laundry area, so every morning we were awakened by the noise of the washing machines, and there was also a vibration in the room as a result. Additionally, the hotel's installation was next to the DEI power plant, and the sea was quite dirty. The children's workshop was closed with a padlock, and in the play area, the toys were broken, and the lawn was muddy, preventing the child from playing.
The entire hotel staff was willing to assist us with any matter. The personnel at the breakfast and snack bar area were exceptionally helpful, as were the lifeguards at the pool area. The hotel was spotlessly clean, and the room was comfortable, with all the promised amenities. Moreover, since we had our little one with us and there was availability, they upgraded our room to a two-room suite at the same price for extra comfort!

JapanThe photo shown on booking.com for our room type was actually of a different room type. Our room was smaller and not as nice as the photo. This was disappointing as previously I have found the photos on booking.com to be accurate. There was some noise disturbance from the room above due to the chairs scraping on the floor - this was not the neighbours fault, it was hard to move the chairs without scraping. Also some neighbours liked to play their music loudly. But generally it was quiet after midnight.
Breakfast selection was very good. The beds were comfortable and the room was a good size. The staff were very friendly.

LatviaIn general, the hotel was nice and friendly staff but the most terrible experience was with Spa center. I decided to book manicure service and it was the terrible service I ever received. I hated the whole process and the quality was super bad. I dont suggest to visit SPA or at least manicure. Very bad result which made me super sad as the price was higher than in any other salons.

United KingdomSee above.
We were half board and the buffet provided a huge choice of food for both breakfast and dinner. Very good. What wasn’t so good was the one night we booked the ‘Italian’ restaurant. Very, very disappointing and not worth paying for. We should have walked out when the waitress informed us there would be an extended wait for any meat or fish dishes because it was ‘all frozen’. Stupidly we stayed and ended up waiting about an hour for our steaks, which definitely weren’t worth the wait. They arrived a few minutes apart and with the wrong sauce for my wife’s. The potato croquettes looked and tasted like Captain Birdseye’s. So, all in all pretty awful food and service. A complete waste of money. We should have stuck with the buffet.

Israel1. The sign "only for only inclusive" relevant at Dinner should be removed at Breakfast from the drinks dispenser. 2. More shades should be in the pool area. 3. A free power socket should be on both sides of the bed. 4. Bath is not properly closed and a lot of water spilled out. 5. A safety handle near the bath is needed for elders. 6. Guests should be informed about the option of purchase low price bus tickets at the gift shop. 7. The pool table was out of order at all time.
1.The generous upgrade we got 2. Excellent meals 3. The staff approach and kindness 4. Fair prices for the extras 5. Extended facility 6. Clean and friendly beach

United StatesIf you do not do the all-inclusive, the options are limited for food. The rooms are dated but for small kids and if you want to just stay in a resort with beach access and one small slide, it is sufficient. The place was busy with tons of families with small kids.
The staff was incredibly nice and genuinely work hard to make your stay nice. They went above and beyond several times if there was any issue or inconvenience. The hotel is perfect for families that want an affordable all inclusive resort that could be anywhere. The family room was spacious with a separate area for kids. The spa was fantastic!

LatviaAt room reservation it said coffee/tea maker - there was no such service in room, only electric kettle. I expected that if there is electric kettle then at least there will be some tea available, but there was nothing. Air conditioner didn't work properly. I requested 1 double bed - got 2 single beds. YoutTube didn't work properly on TV. If you go for lunch in hotel and order coffee, they have to bring it all the way from the bar, although coffee makers are just there (used during breakfast), but switched off.
All staff was really welcoming and polite. High variety of food in breakfast and even choice of local foods which we enjoyed. All breakfasts we had outside, so we could also enjoy the garden view. Excellent view from our room as it was overseeing same garden and could see beach in a distance. We had some additional requests as we were traveling with 1 year old kid and hotel staff had no issues fulfilling them. Plenty of room at the pool area. For our surprise also water aerobics was free of charge. Parking area only for hotel guests, so there was no issue with parking spaces. We liked also location of hotel, as we were planning to travel by car, so everything was quite close by. Beach is nearby hotel, so you have no issues going there. We went to other areas in Heraklion, and it is a clearly issue in other places. Also beach is quite wide and with soft sand at hotel area, compared to other places were beach is very narrow and in some places covered in rocks and see urchins. Although other reviews mention factory nearby, you don't see it from hotel and if you go to the beach it is somewhere in the distance, so it doesn't affect you at all.
