How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Verified reviewThe service was excellent. The pool was nice. Comfortable and quiet. Supermarket was close. A very welcoming homely feel. Good air conditioner.Kitchen was sufficiently equipped to prepare meals if you want ,alteranatively there is a pool bar that has reasonably priced light meals and drinks.
It was a bit far into town or attractions if you dont have your own car.

You do require a car to stay here (which we had) as it is not close to town, and parking could be a bit tricky if you're not a seasoned European driver

Verified reviewthe owners are exceptional people. Well stocked bar with breakfast and lunch always all good. House of good size. Upon arrival the house was very clean, sheets and towels changed every other day. Excellent location, 5 minutes by car from the center and 20 minutes on foot. Parking available on site.
It needs a cabin or a sheet to close the shower because the whole bathroom gets wet. I would also add a mosquito net to the bathroom window. The house is cleaned every 2 days, honestly I would also equip it with something to sweep the floor on a daily basis. There were small ants in the bathroom for this reason I would equip the structure with material to always keep it clean.

Verified reviewWe were very happy with the room and the facilities. The hotel owners treated us really nice and helped us with everything we needed for our 6-month old baby! We will stay here again on our next visit to Samos :)
The only negative for us was the size of the bathroom. It could use a few more square meters. However, the water pressure was fine, so nothing to really complain about.

Verified reviewThe owners were really helpful and went out of their way to help me eg by driving me into town and to the airport.
The bathroom was extremely small and therefore uncomfortable. It felt below the standard I had expected. It was also a bit "rough" and unfinished. It was not ventilated well enough and smelled damp. The room was supposed to be cleaned 3 times a week but was only cleaned twice while I was there and that was not enough.
We appreciate you taking the time to give us such a detailed review about the your stay. We are very sorry that some things during your stay did not meet your needs and expectations.

Verified reviewThe owners are lovely very friendly and helpful, we foolishly walked from the port to the hotel in the middle of the day we under estimated the distance.... We had been in our room a couple of minutes when there was a knock at the door, it was the Meni the owner she brought us a large bottle of cold water which was greatly appreciated. The beds where comfortable, we had a large balcony with chairs and a table. The pool area was lovely with nice big sun loungers. It was a good 30 minute walk down to the port lots of places to eat and drink. When we left Meni's husband kindly drove us to the port.

Verified reviewRelaxed and helpfull owners Meni and Costa do their urmost best to make you happy. We had a nice room, looking north-east at the first stock. Almost every day sheets are being refreshed, which was not really necessary for us, but it signs their properness. They have a lush garden, with lots of flowers around and orange and lemon trees. From their place behind their is a trail leading through the mountain to the Pythagoreon tunnel and further to the nice town of Pythagoreo. Just ask Meni where you can access. One can also walk to Kora, with some supermarkets and restaurants, or south to the beach, which is at about 1.5 km

Verified reviewThis place had all you needed for a nice relaxing break. The staff couldn't do enough for us. Lovely poolside snack bar. Clean towels everyday. Bathroom was stocked each day.
The only downside was that it is a bit out of the town and a bit of a walk to the nearest beach. Taxis were ordered for us to take us into town. Not expensive. If we got a taxi to the beach, I don't know how we could have got one back. We enjoyed relaxing at the pool each day.
