Bathroom needs serious upgrade and the kitchen. There isn’t enough cutlery for the amount of people, shower was very old.

We could not leave any food in the top, because ants were everywhere. I needed either to keep food in the fridge or throw away.

Wi Fi is pure disaster. We had ants on second floor but that was not due to dirtiness but to the greenery outside

Charming greek hospitality in small but kind staff- charming guy in bar who was super nice,lady in morning in taverna was pleasant and owners were as Greeks are- nice and warm. Charming swimming pool, a lot of green in complex( which is rare in Crete) and traditional cool look of complex itself. Very good beach nearby and tasty food in Taverna.

Mrs. Theonymphi and Mr. Kostas where simply wonderful people. She made sure I was upgraded to a lovely twin room on the 2nd floor with amazing pool and sea view. Mr. Kostas gave us amazing info on the history of the area and made sure we ate well. Family-run hotel that needs a bit of facilities improvement but the hosts willingness to assist and entertain you surpasses any minor problems. The star of the premises is, of course , their son Rafaelo who embodies the true Cretan hospitality and serves a mean Cuba Libre (and lot's of raki of course!). My kid loved the quiet pool open till late. As they say in Crete "cheers mates"!

The beds & pillows are the worst, very hard and uncomfortable, the was nothing comfortable in the room at all. The shower is so small water goes everywhere since the shower curtain is to short. Didn't have hot water the one night. The bed cover had stains, the bathroom had a smell and little flys. Tons of mosquitoes in the room and the crickets from outside at night sound like they are right in room. The biggest was water from the room above us was draining from the ceiling into our shower. I messaged them but never heard back. Would not stay again.

Well the cleaning lady was very nice and she was the one who gave us the key and never seen the reception office open. The location was okay, you are right by the beach and restaurants. The grounds are nice but need some maintenance, especially around the pool area.

Ants. They got into my suitcase which I had to throw away, as well as my hand luggage and several other things. So I had to buy some when I was there. The staff said it was down to food.... there was no food in my suitcase. There was ants in the bathroom on the sink. We had no food whatsoever on the bathroom. We was moved to a different room. A member of staff told us that she didn't eat at home due to a problem with ants. So basically not to eat in our room. So why do they offer self catering if they know they have an ant problem. Why not offer room only or bed and breakfast. We barely eat in our room anyway, maybe just have a sandwich on the odd occasion. So I think it's false offering self catering when they know they have an ant problem. Noise. The noise levels at night are ridiculous. You can hear absolutely everything from other rooms. It's another problem. You expect to hear some things but not like this. Staff were nice until they moved us. Which is bad really because the ants aren't our fault. I've stayed on Crete several times before too so I know this is unusual for Crete.

The rooms are basic, but the price, location and restaurant make up for this.

The restaurant is excellent. The restaurant and hotel are family run. We ate most dinners in the hotel restaurant, and were served mostly by Rafael who is super hospitable and great with kids.

It was not very clean, as soon as we arrived we saw a big cockroach in the room. 2 days before our check out the water started dripping from the air conditioner. We called the owners, they arrived, promised that somebody will come to solve the problem during the day. Of course, nobody came, the next night we were forced to sleep with the noise of falling drops of water. But the worst surprise was waiting us on the morning of our check out: somebody has stolen 4 tops from swimsuits and 1 brief. Owners informed us that there are no cameras on the territory, so it's impossible to see who has done this bad joke with us and some other guests of the hotel. Also we used the changing / shower room, the owner refused to give us towels and the room itself was not cleaned in a while. We will never return here.

The only good thing about this hotel is it’s location - it is situated nearby Star Beach, which has great infrastructure, especially for children. Other than that, the rooms are old, utilities malfunction and most importantly there is no security and your things might get stolen.
