Our room (junior cave suite) had a comfy day bed with a great view. One draw back is it’s located right next to the reception/ lobby outdoor area. Other guests, bar/bistro patrons use the area for photos/ sit down area for drinks and the public bathroom there. We once had to ask someone to vacate from our day bed as they thought it was part of the public space. Choose a different room if privacy is a priority for your stay.

Loved the location. Great views and picture spots. The property is beautiful and well decorated. The staff are very considerate and helpful with their recommendations. Customizable breakfast and good selection.

If I had to be picky (and it’s hard) I’d have preferred sun lounges not deck chairs on the terrace but our room was very private so it wasn’t a big deal. Absolutely stunning

The views from the property were stunning. Our room had a private terrace where breakfast was served in the morning and it was breathtaking. The hotel staff were so friendly and helpful. Check in was excellent- we were given a glass of local wine and given recommendations for things to do and places to eat during our stay. Our room was lovely. We spent just one night in Santorini before flying home, the final stop after an island-hopping adventure through Greece. This place turned out to be a little gem. The building itself has a timeless beauty, carefully restored with a respect for tradition that gives it real character. The location is in front of the Caldera—tucked away from the chaos of Santorini’s overtourism, yet still close enough to feel connected to the island. It gave us space to breathe and enjoy a quieter side of Santorini. The staff made the stay unforgettable. Warm, genuinely kind, and full of thoughtful suggestions, they guided us toward hidden corners and experiences we would have missed on our own. Their advice truly shaped our last day, turning it into something special. If we ever return to the Cyclades, we’ll gladly come back here. It’s the kind of place that leaves you with a lasting memory, even after just one night.

Powercuts - not the properties fault, but something travels should be aware of in high season.

Excellent location, note you do have to travel by foot for the last stretch - staff where excellent in helping with bags and reservations and check in. Hotel restaurant / bar are excellent recommend dinner here - exquisite views.

Nothing at all.

Absolutely everything could not fault it at all! The staff are beyond kind and accomodating (a special big shoutout to Kristos - he was the best!). The room is perfect - comfortable beds, really nice complimentary toiletries, nice bathroom with big shower & the outside area is a dream. The private plunge pool, sun lounge bed & umbrella were exactly what we wanted. The communal pool area is just as beautiful if you don’t have a private plunge spa. View is insane from everywhere!! Breakfast absolutely divine served right on your balcony with the view & the staff are more than happy to bring anything extra you need. Would definitely recommend this place to stay & would love to come back!!

All was great

Everything was amazing, from the outside design to the interior space, the views and the cleanliness. The staff was very helpful, professional and available. There were great selections for breakfast that could be enjoyed with the breathtaking views. It was hard to leave to go sightseeing

A very minor complaint but I found the bed a bit soft for my liking (I'm a big chap!).

Lovely room, excellent pool and a really great breakfast. I was ill on the morning of our departure and the staff were absolutely brilliant. They carried all our bags, arranged a taxi for us and were very understanding of our situation. Genuinely lovely people and a special hotel. Oh, and the views...!!!!

We loved everything ! The location must be one of the best on the island with dramatic views of the caldera. From the pool area we could see the sunset every evening. The staff was very friendly and easy to talk to. We had all the amenities we needed and an extra bonus was the delicious breakfast served in our little balcony every morning. The hotel has the most picturesque little cafe downstairs where they serve refreshing cocktails and food. Whenever we go back to Santorini we will book the same accommodation.

Nothing - the Altana had everything I needed, and there wasn't a single part of it I didn't like.

The staff, the room, the restaurant and all the amenities were fantastic! This hotel was recommended to me, and I have since recommended it to others. The hotel staff was very welcoming, the location was fantastic, the restaurant was delicious, and my room was beyond comfortable with amazing views of the caldera.

This has to be the most incredible accommodation in Santorini. The staff, the food, the rooms. Everything is just perfect. The view from the pool is just spectacular. Our honeymoon was perfect thanks to everyone who worked here. We got a free upgrade when we arrived to the most amazing room with the largest hot tub outside overlooking the caldera. Simply beautiful.

Everything was absolutely perfect.

We arrived in Santorini and told our cab driver our hotel, he immediately said, "You're staying at the best hotel in Imerovigli." He was absolutely right. Altana is stunning. The rooms are beautiful and well-equipped, the views of the caldera are breathtaking, and the pool at sunset is unforgettable. Breakfast each morning was absolutely delicious, and the location is ideal for the scenic hike to both Oia and Fira. If you’re debating between staying in Fira or Oia, stop searching. Altana’s location offers the best of both worlds: close access to each without the crowds and noise. But what truly made the experience unforgettable was the staff. Michael, Mario, and Kristos went above and beyond, from arranging tours and taxis to offering honest local tips and helping when my friend developed a sun allergy. Kristos hosted a wonderful private wine tasting, Dimitrius made the best cocktails, and Michael and Mario were complete professionals throughout. On the day we were supposed to leave, all ferries were canceled. The team was incredibly kind and quickly arranged for us to stay an extra night-no stress, no hassle, just pure hospitality. I’ve traveled to over 50 countries, and this was one of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had.
