A great location near Lindos, but far enough away to escape the crowds. The hills behind sheltered the property from pre

The bathroom was a little small, as was the kitchen. However this was offset by more kitchen facilities in the building at the back which facilitated ‘al fresco’ dining. The staircase was a little steep and needed care to go up and down. When neighbours were in occupation, their air conditioning had a leak which wet the patio area near the dining facilities.

The property was secluded but near enough to amenities. It was ideal for a couple with all the facilities. Despite the high temperatures, the air conditioning kept the property cool when needed. It’s location only 800m from a supermarket, 1km from Vycha beach and only 2km from Lindos made it an ideal quiet stay in an area noted for crowds. Although there is a good bus service 200m away, it would be advisable to have a car. The BBQ and outside cooking and dining area meant we didn’t have to trudge into Lindos and find restaurants every night but could simply relax in a charming villa. Highly recommended.

Lovely villa in a great location, but let down by some key areas…

That said, some areas let the villa down. The kitchen was the biggest frustration – advertised as having an oven and microwave, but neither were there, and the setup made cooking almost impossible. The kitchen area, separate to the main villa, was unbearably hot without air con, one fridge couldn’t hold a safe temperature, and utensils were very limited, with little more than a gas BBQ and hob to rely on. The pool also needed more consistent care: it was often very cold (although more refreshing by late afternoons) and, on arrival, residue from sun cream made the sides sticky, and although it occasionally looked freshly cleaned, on other mornings it was littered with bugs. Smaller irritations included a creaky metal bed frame on already creaky floorboards, hot water that never really got passed lukewarm, parking left outside the gates despite being advertised in pictures as secure inside, and the lack of a basic guest information book. We still enjoyed our stay and made the most of it, but these details would stop us from booking again.

We really enjoyed the overall space and comfort of Aleyna House and think the villa deserves a detailed review. The villa itself was clean, with a spacious living area, a cosy upstairs bedroom, and comfortable bedding with plenty of extras if needed. The sunbeds were excellent, the air con worked brilliantly, and the peaceful location felt private and relaxed, surrounded by local wildlife. Having Sergio on hand via WhatsApp was reassuring, and little touches like welcome gifts added to the stay. For the price, it was a decent base and we made the most of it.

Myself and my partner had a lovely stay, just what we wanted, PRIVACY. The house is quite remote and has a private pool which is why we booked Aleyna House. We hired a car (I would recommend this) and as such it gave us a chance to explore the less regularly visited beaches by tourists. Every other night we organised a taxi into Lindos to then return to the peace that Aleyna House offered. Having a supermarket nearby and an outdoor kitchen and bbq meant that we could eat at home most of the time.
