How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewOur stay at Aeon Suites was a highlight of our Europe holiday. From the minute we checked in to departure, Sophia and the team went above and beyond. The suite was perfect for relaxing during the day, and the hotel being located minutes from the main square of Pyrgos was convenient to venture out in the evening where we found more authentic restaurants than the main areas of Fira and Oia. Breakfast was another highlight with many selections, cooked fresh daily and brought up to our room. The room was exceptionally clean with a comfortable bed.

• There were cats that bothered us at the pool. • The location is not convenient – the hotel is on a mountain, and getting to the city center costs 30 euros each way.

Verified reviewVery beautiful place. The Manager Sophia was very nice, professional and accommodating of all of our requests, we got a room upgrade for our special celebration. Amazing room with sea view and heated pool, very spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent, very delicious, served in the room every day, very rich and delicious. Very quiet location but at the same time a few minutes away from many restaurants and little shops. Extremely relaxing stay and friendly staff.

Verified reviewWe had the pleasure of staying in two different rooms at AEON Suites: the Superior Suite Sea View and the Senior Suite Sea View. Both featured private plunge pools with stunning views—especially magical at night. The rooms were spacious, impeccably clean, and equipped with efficient air conditioning, which made our stay very comfortable. Breakfast was another highlight, with three excellent options to choose from: Traditional Greek, American, and Healthy. We tried them all, and each was delicious. A special thanks to Sofia, the manager, who was incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay. Everything was perfect—nothing to complain about. We truly enjoyed our experience and would highly recommend AEON Suites to anyone visiting Santorini

We are glad that you enjoyed the facilities of your room, though we are sorry to learn that the pool area didn’t meet your expectations. Our pools and tubs are cleaned and maintained daily with great care. However, the weather on the Greek islands can be quite windy at times, which can make it challenging to keep everything in perfect condition throughout the day. Regarding the stray animals, despite all necessary actions being taken by the hotel to address the presence of homeless cats on the premises, many of them still choose to stay nearby. Over time, these cats have found a kind of sanctuary, as numerous hotel guests show compassion by feeding and caring for them. The cats, in turn, seem to sense the kindness around them and have made themselves comfortable in the area, often settling in quiet corners or sunlit spots. For those who have noticed and enjoyed the presence of our friendly resident cats, please rest assured, they are all vaccinated and spayed by the municipality. Furthermore, please rest assured that had any concerns been raised during your stay, I would have personally addressed and resolved them immediately. That is precisely why I provide my personal phone number—to be available whenever needed. Verified reviewWe loved this property, and its location in the smaller, local town of Pyrgos. The hotel manager was readily available to help us with anything we needed. And the property was located just a short walk from amazing restaurants! The breakfast spread every morning by the pool was our favorite way to start our days. An amazing honeymoon location.
I wish we also had lounge chairs as an option by the pool, but outside of that it was a wonderful stay!

Verified reviewI have traveled a lot, and this hotel was by far the best I’ve been to. The staff was very kind and always helpful, as well as very reactive and helping. There are 3 types of breakfasts that are directly discretely brought to your room. The breakfasts were delicious, fresh and healthy. The room was very clean and beautiful, with a great view on the island. The jacuzzi was hot and worked very well, moreover you could see the view from the jacuzzi. It was an incredible journey and for sure we will come back again ! Thank you for everything that made this trip unforgettable !

Verified reviewFantastic room with amazing mountain and sea views, friendly and helpful staff, and they were able to accomodate the breakfast for vegans, which was greatly appreciated. As a plus is located in one of the least crowded but equally beautiful towns, right in the middle of the island, making it easier to get everywhere in less than 30mins with the scooter.
