How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewQuiet area ideally located a few minutes walk from the centre. Our room had is own private veranda looking over the lovely garden. The room was full of character, very spacious and luxurious. The hosts added their own personal touch to our stay e.g. fresh fruit from the garden, fresh flowers, support and pointers on what to see and where to go. the host kept in contact with us throughout our stay which was really appreciated.

Verified reviewThe room is very large and it is very nice to have your own, private entrance. It is very clean, including towels and linens. We were given delcious home-made peach juice upon arrival and fresh roses from.their garden. The shower is great, air conditioning works well. Wifi is slow but so was our mobile data. There is a small fridge, kettle and coffee and tea which was very nice. We didn't use the shared kitchen but it looked well stocked. The location is good only a few minutes walk to the castle. We booked our driver to Tusheti with the guesthouse and it worked our very well. The owner is very easy to communicate with over WhatsApp and in person.

Verified reviewVery nice and quiet room. The owner gives good advice for activities around Tewali and can get transportation for you for a fair price. She speaks fluently German and even gave us company to the wine pot manufacturer to translate. Very good breakfast on the terrace. We would definitely come back.
Everything was perfect

The room featured "a private bathroom" but it was not connected to the room, it was next to the shared kitchen.

Verified reviewThe guesthouse is well located close to the city centre and the city viewpoint. Tamuna, the host, is a very kind and smiley lady. She made us an amazing breakfast and helped arrange our onward trip to Tusheti. The room was comfortable, clean and quite spacious, with beautiful wooden floorboards. The garden view in the morning was a nice plus!

Verified reviewTamuna and her father run this gem in the center of Telavi, with a very beautiful garden, spacious and clean rooms. We had a very pleasant and comfortable stay. Tamuna and her father organised for us a trip to visit wineries and the surroundings in Kakheti, with wine and chacha tasting. We will certainly come back to visit all that this beautiful region has to offer. Vielen Dank Tamuna und bis bald 😁

Verified reviewThe garden and shower facilities were very fine.
the owner lady was too money-oriented, so she was fairly nervous about the smallest things and did not treat us comfortably. She even removed the frying pan secretly for our grilling meat in the kitchen. What is worse, during the wine tour we inquired, she appeared at a local winery surprisimgly and showed a bizarre behavior that unfairly demands the cost of the tour by intruding in the program at her own will. According to the house review, dishwashers and hair dryers are reported to be provided, yet they are not actually equipped. The owner complained that we used a lot of water in hand-washing, because she asked for 10 lari to use the washing machine in the accommodation.
Hello, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. You are the first guests to write about us that we are only focused on money. The frying pan was taken by other guests. You should have asked and we would have returned it to you again. As for the washing machine, yes the cost of washing is 10 GEL because electricity and water are used. You have washed all your clothes in the sink and we politely reminded you that there is a washing machine and you could have used it. We do not have a dishwasher and it is not mentioned anywhere that it is available. You also used the bathroom of other guests, which was very unpleasant and we had to apologize to them. We are very sorry. We wish you all the best for your future. Best regards, GHKS

Verified reviewGiorgi was so friendly and welcomed us with fruit from the garden and fresh verbena tea. He speaks German and Russian, rather than English but we still managed to have some good conversations! Tamuna coordinated everything on the phone and she speaks brilliant English. She was very helpful with tips on what to see and do in Telavi. It was lovely to spend time on their garden among the fruit trees. Our room was very comfortable, spacious and clean.

Verified reviewWe only stayed one night, but the apartment had everything that we needed. It was very spacious and there was a large patio where we could relax and enjoy the lovely garden. On arrival, our host was very attentive and gave us fresh mint tea and fruit from his garden. The bed was large and very comfortable and the shower was great. The WiFi worked perfectly for us. It is located on a quiet road, with safe parking outside, but still only 10 minutes walk to the main square. Communication was excellent and we received a recommendation for a very nice restaurant.
Nothing, we were very happy.

Verified reviewBrilliant property value for money. from the time of booking their communication on whatsapp was excelled and proactive. when we were there the owner was not fluent in english, but the person coordinating with us she was excellent. The view is the garden nothing else. but totally worth the price you pay for this, we were 3 of us as family and it was perfect for us. their home cooked breakfast is a must try, outstanding. it’s very central to the main street easily walkable. we loved the restaurant Kapiloni- yummy food and not very expensive.
