Beautifully designed, quiet and safe. Clean kitchen with outdoor seating and playpark. Very handy for a kid friendly walk to Hadrian’s wall and a lovely pub and brewery next door too. Loved it!

Would be nice to have a kettle in the room, but it was in a kitchen so ok. Beds are very basic but clean and it is a hostel:)

The location is very convenient for Hadrians wall walks. nice modern clean building. Good facilities for self catering, food available to buy too.

I can't even start to explain the great experience we had. I booked this but with no expectation of great facilities considering it's a hostel and the ones I've stayed in are worn out. This place has greatly exceeded our expectations. The staff... AMAZING, the facilities are literally new. No water marks on taps, no mould, no hairs, nothing is worn out other than the kitchen, that seems to be the oldest part of it. I am told that this has been there since 2018 but considering the years and influx of people, the staff do an amazing job to keep the place spotless. The smell and facilities are those of a good hotel, not in line with hostel. I believe that it's probably related to the public attending, it seems to be more of the outdoor type and not so much on staying long holidays, like with the other ones I've been too. There was a lady that helped us with the laundry, she was really helpful, proactive and friendly. There was another member of staff that was a cover as she's from the Liverpool branch, her name is Helen and me and my girls were amazed with her, she was sooo sweet with my daughters, hard worker (one could tell as she was working nonstop), proactive and she's a really valuable asset to any job. I have to recommend this place, hands down, but I do hope that this is still a hidden gem as otherwise it will be ruined. We had 3 nights there and the people that stopped there seemed to be just for the night, the second night we almost had the whole place for ourselves, which was an added bonus. You have a brewery behind it and a pub, the pub books astronomy/planetarium experiences, we had an amazing time. The hostel is within walking distance to Hadrian's wall, and the Sycamore gap. They're in the grounds of the Sill and there's an exhibition with part of the Sycamore tree that was cut down.

- location was amazing - staff were great - big shout out to Maddie (?) for being so lovely and giving me an itinerary for my trip to Newcastle the next day :D it was great btw, I loved the free trade pub and gingerinos, so thanks for those recs! - let me do my work in the common area - really helpful, thank you - beds super comfy - good vibes all round Nice one guys, will hopefully be back in the future!

We had a private room. It was clean and comfortable but a little warm on the night time with no fan or air con available. The breakfast was good and the staff were very informative and helpful. There were areas to relax, play pool, a bar to have a drink or 3, and just a general nice atmosphere.

Don't honestly think I can think of anything!!

Location, amazing! Staff really helpful, friendly, and hard working. We ate at the canteen one evening, tasty value for money food. Kitchen very clean, neat, lots of space to store food and cook with other guests. The hostel is super clean, spacious, light, and really well designed to sit comfortably in the landscape which is so present. The best hostel I have stayed in, and I've stayed in a few over the years!!!
