Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaBeing in room 002, every time some one came into the outer hall the door would bang due to the air pressure as the outer hall door closed and being right next to the door did not help; there was the availability of a disability ensuite for the room which was not practical for someone without disability in particular the hand basin with a shelf right above it meant you couldn’t even wash your face and the basin had a blocked drain; there was one communal shower and toilet for five group rooms…unexceptable!; there was one washer and dryer for the entire hostel including domestics…I missed a whole day due to waiting for my washing to be washed and dried…unexceptable!; no exhausts or air circulation throughout halls and communal hygiene facilities…terrible!; I had to wash and brush my teeth in the communal toilet hand basin due to the blocked drain in the ensuite; the communal catering facility felt like it was in the basement with no vibe; no trips/excursions offered for solo travellers; and there were roof leaks in the cafe space due to blocked pipes. This place needs some maintenance to be more practical for the travellers…just asking basic requirements of a hostel that caters for a larger amount of people which this one did not have.
Great location; the bar/cafe; beds already made on arrival.

New ZealandNo curtains or much privacy in the women's shared 6 bed bunk rooms.
Private shared bathroom was big and clean. Self catering kitchen was good. Laundry and baggage storage also good. Close walk to shops, Oxford and Piccadilly.

United KingdomWe stay for two nights, there was a pipe leak outside our room. It was a bit noisy from the repairs, but the staff was fantastic - he explained everying clearly and poiltely. Luckily, the problem was solved quickly, and we were able to get a good night's sleep.
I really enjoyed stay at your hostel !

United KingdomCheck in was a faff. I was sent to two different rooms, neither of which had a spare bed and one was on the fourth floor! Not great at 11pm when you're tired with luggage and the lights are out in the rooms. No lockers in the room to keep your bag close and safe. Beds and pillows quite hard and the thick rubber mattress protector made them very hot (no aircon).
Decent enough location and price. Felt safe inside. Very friendly staff and upgraded me to a private room after issues finding me a bed.

United KingdomLift was broken and was on the third floor, but not a big issue. Some noise from outside but it was Saturday night in Central London so to be expected!
After a delayed flight I had to spend the night in London rather than heading home, but was glad to find a dorm bed for just £20. Receptionist was friendly and helpful when I arrived after 10pm and dorm was only 4 bed which was a nice surprise. Very clean and comfortable and felt safe! Great location only 15 or so minutes walk to Euston station for me early the next morning.

IndiaThere were no lockers in the room for luggage in the sharing rooms. Also in the luggage room there are no lockers. Would appreciate it if there is a luggage room with locker room so that we have the peace of mind while we roam around with luggage kept securely. Would not mind paying a nominal charge for it.
The place is right at the heart of London. A walk away from Oxford Street. Buse to major tourist attractions. Hygiene is top tier too. I like the kitchen area and how everyone tries to keep it tidy.

IranOur room was in the basement which was a bit unpleasant. The walls are not soundproof, so you could easily here everyone. The upper part of the bunk bed was really small without any support and I was afraid to fall down at night. There was only one shower and one toilet for everyone and sometimes you had to Q. And some basics like a bin/ basin in the shower was missing.
Location was perfect.

United KingdomWe were down in the basement and it felt a bit stuffy and had a funny smell. The box seat in the bedroom was grubby and the fascia around the light and PowerPoint could’ve done with a good wipe. Breakfast was VERY basic; no yoghurt, only apples for fruit, no vegan pastries. There was only one toilet downstairs. The toilets on ground level were stiflingly hot!
The bar and reception area felt clean and welcoming. Our double room had space with AC, PowerPoints and a mirror. The communal kitchen area looked handy and clean but we didn’t use it so can’t comment on equipment etc. The shared bathroom was just across the hall so really close by.

SloveniaIt was very hot in the room, however, we had movable fan in the room, so it was somehow manageable. Lift was not working on the arrival day (it was fixed next day), so was quite tough to take all luggage to the 4th floor.
Clean, self catering kitchen was well equipped (except the cafeteria was missing), close to the underground (5 min walk).

Central location in easy walking distance from the tube or mainline stations (north). A short distance to Oxford street and London theatre district. All the basic facilities in the room for an overnight stay but bring a towel and toiletries. Excellent on site facilities with 24 hour pizza, a bar and cheap optional (non cooked) breakfast. Very helpful. And responsive staff
