How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Friendly owners, fantastic large bedroom and bathroom and excellent breakfast. Already booked our next stay. This guest house is situated in a very quiet area of Gatehouse of Fleet. There is free parking on the street by the guest house

Only small thing was breakfast availability could be extended slightly beyond 9:30 am.
Very spacious rooms and bathrooms. Very attentive and helpful hosts. Attention to detail and cleanliness was exceptional. Breakfast was a good selection, well prepared and presented.

This is not a complaint just maybe a wee something for the owners to consider. The duvet on the bed was a bit heavy for the time of year, although it was an exceptionally warm weekend. Could have been doing with some blackout curtains/blinds, again mid summer visit sun rising early making room very bright.
Beautiful guesthouse, with a lovely large well equipped room. Hosts were amazing and nothing was a bother for them very accommodating and friendly. Great selection for breakfast and as much as you could eat. Excellent. Had a lovely stay and would certainly recommend to friends.

Really spacious, clean rooms with everything you could need for a stay. Bed was super comfy. Woodlyn hosts Kevin & Nikki are superb! So kind and helpful, they went above and beyond for us and we are so grateful - we had the best stay here. Breakfast was gorgeous, so much hot and cold choice. An excellent stay and we would highly recommend!

Second time we’ve stayed here and didn’t disappoint. Lovely little guest house with excellent hosts. Property is in an ideal location, is clean modern and spacious. Breakfast is always top notch with something for everyone. Would absolutely recommend and will hopefully staying again next year.

Rooms were beautiful and well appointed, from tea making facilities to toiletries and towels . Delicious breakfast in the morning from two lovely hosts , we will definitely return if we are back in this area

The rooms are beautiful, spacious and clean. Large bathroom with walk in showers. We had booked two room and one also came with a large stand alone bath. Great choice at breakfast.

I would like to thank Kev and nicky for an wonderful stay at the Woodlyn breakfast I can only give 10 out of 10 rooms are immaculate and spotless comfy beds and fantastic shower so if you are thinking of coming to gatehouse of fleet do yourself a favour and come here you won't be disappointed

Amazing, room was great and breakfast was even better! All allergens were really clearly displayed and hosts were even able to make a fully gluten free breakfast!! Would recommend to anyone

Beautiful, spacious room. Bed was really comfortable and the provisions were excellent. Kevin and Nikki were wonderful hosts, really friendly and helpful. The breakfast was top notch too!
