Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNo fridge in the room. There was a locked interconnecting door to next door’s room and their TV was very noisy until midnight. On arrival, no one at reception told me the time of breakfast, or where I had to go. I wasn’t given the phone number for reception, or told of any wifi code. There was no information in the room of such either. I was given my room key in the modern building, but stayed in the mansion, very poor communication but friendly staff.
The selection of drinks and biscuits in the room was amazing. The room was clean and the view was stunning.

United KingdomThe food in the restaurant/bar is average at best. I’d describe it had Wetherspoons esque but double the price. They can do better. Revitalise the menu, give people value for money rather taking advantage of a captive audience

United KingdomNot the historic building shown on the booking.com website(!) it was very much the modern annex, but that still had good facilities.
Comfortable bed and room. Reasonable breakfast, could have had more vegetarian options though

United KingdomBreakfast was served in The Pantry not the restaurant. It was very busy, noisy & over-crowded. The coffee machines were not serviced for milk frequently enough so lots of waiting around in a queue for hot drinks & the hot food was running out more frequently than the staff could keep up. I stay regularly & this was unusual.
Easily accessible from M4. Large, clean airy reception area. Comfortable room. Delightful staff, always helpful & cheerful.

United KingdomThe only issue we had with our ground floor room was that it was described as being a room with a view , which you can see the golf course however, the room did open up into the car park . I assumed you would face somewhere a bit more private. As a result we had the curtains pulled the majority of the time for privacy. The doors also had a big gap at the top, this was because on of the double doors didn’t actually close properly, however with the other door closed and locked it was fine. Could make the room very cold in winter though. Breakfast was nice, however a little unorganised we weren’t told where we were allowed to sit, and so didn’t know where to go, we couldn’t find any plates and had to ask to get some. The selection of food was great though and even for children there was frubes, baby bels, yoghurts, cheese and lots of kids choices .
We have previously stayed in the mansion house at the DeVere, and it was fantastic hence why we came back. This thought we chose a room in Wokefield place as it was ground floor with patio doors and described as having a view . This room was separate to mansion house. Beautifully decorated, room was clean and well set up, lovely surprise in our room when we arrived being the guest of the day, so we had some biscuits and chocolate as a gift. Welcoming staff, we requested via booking.com to have a late check out which the property noted down and allowed us to have with no problem. In the reception area there is a kids table with free arts and crafts and free cereal bars. They have a pantry where you can purchase drinks, snacks , chargers and lots of other items . You can rent umbrellas in the door way via contactless card payment . .

United KingdomThere isn’t much to do for kids besides a small playground and you’ll need a car if you stay at this hotel and plan to go out. The family rooms are away from the main building.
This is a nice hotel for conference, seminars, weddings and if you are into golf. Rooms and ground were clean. Breakfast was ok if you like English breakfast but nothing special. Staff was accommodating.

United KingdomDinner service was not up to standard. I waited 50 minutes for my food and when it finally arrived the main course came out before the starter. When I complained I was not offered anything other than a sulky apology. I did press this and was eventually not charged for one of my drinks. Not really the standard I'd expect from this hotel.
Easy arrival process and ease of booking.

United KingdomIt was all perfect apart from the fact that there was a large conference, which meant on the first day it was very busy, noisy and messy. Not the fault of staff, who tried their best to accommodate our needs.
Good Location, close to all the attractions we wanted to visit, yet set amongst large grounds with a grand mansion house.
