The coffee at breakfast was pretty poor. First day it was great but next day it was little more that coloured water. Aside from this, I cannot faullt much.

The staff were lovely, rooms were spacious with comfortable beds but the blinds didn't really block the light and the double glazing didn't quite shut out the traffic sounds. That aside, it was a lovely place to stay and is close to everything in Hastings. Would definitely recommend it.

Although the breakfast was good & 20% off for residents, we would normally expect breakfast to be included at a hotel.

We were able to upgrade to a lovely sea view room on arrival. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. Loved the sea-front location with hotel bar/restaurant & outside terrace. Able to park in hotel car park but if not, hotel could provide a parking permit for nearby public car park. Liked that the hotel is pet friendly. Walking distance to pier, theatre, restaurants/bars and shops.

Our Summer stay at the White Rock ☀️

It's not so much not liking, but on the 1st night, we had friends come to the hotel for drinks, and we decided to eat at the White Rock. I think the waitress must have been new, when she brought two plates over she wasn't sure which one was which and she hovered by friend with the plates close to my friends body. My friend then pointed to the plate furthest away and said, "That's my plate. The waitress then pushed the plate closest to my friend into her stomach. I think she got confused as to what plate was where. The plates were hot, and it burnt my friend. My friend said oww you're burning me. The girl was very apologetic and asked if she was okay. She put the plates down and went and got the other two and asked again if my friend was okay. We didn't say anything as we realised she was new and learning the Job, and we thought everyone has to start somewhere.

I used to live in Hastings and come down to visit now with my partner. We have stayed at the White Rock a few times since last year, and it's always such a lovely stay. This stay, The room was lovely and clean, and the views were amazing! Good tea and coffee and biscuits facilities to welcome us. The staff are always so helpful and friendly, and the general vibe is always nice and relaxed. We love the lounge and eating area and the outside where on a sunny day there is nothing more lovely than to sit outside with a coffee taking in the sea and view. It's a great appeal to have that, and the atmosphere makes us want to stay and chill having family come and visit us here rather than visiting them! Really lovely stay this summer so much so we have booked for December!

Very friendly staff on reception. Location cannot be beat - our room had French doors which we could open to let the sea breeze in (needed as it was HOT when we went) - view across the front. We didn't eat at the hotel but has a great sea view outside space to sit and eat/drink. As it's an old building it didn't have air con, but it did have a decent evaporator fan unit which I had to use as the room got VERY stuffy. Not their fault, hot outside and nature of old buildings. Didn't matter to us but if you cannot get up stairs there is no lift so make sure you take that into account.

I can't think of anything that could have improved my stay. It's an old buildings and the corridor floors creak when you walk on them but that's to be expected and the room was fine.

The check in was very friendly and professional with lots of information about the hotel and surrounding area provided. The room was clean. bright and comfortable. The bathroom was superb with a great shower, far better than mine at home. I didn't eat at the hotel but the dining area looked very comfortable. I did make use of the bar which had friendly staff, good range of beers and a lovely terrace area to enjoy your drinks. I appreciated the team that serviced the room every day. The room was always serviced and felt fresh every time I returned.

    Nothing.

Location. I went to Hastings for a beach holiday and as The White Rock Hotel completely overlooked the sea and the pier, I booked it and even paid a little bit extra to have a sea view room. Good pick! Please note that the high area of the beach is pebbles, not sand - however plenty of people sunbathing, having fun in the sea and enjoying the pier. My room was perfectly functional and clean with all the expected facilities and of course the sea view. I thoroughly recommend the hotel Café-bar both for drinks (excellent terrace seating area) and food. I ate there each night I stayed. 10 minutes walk along the sea front to Hastings Old Town, cliff railways, caves etc. etc. A lovely stay - thanks to all at The White Rock Hotel Hastings.

The noise of the traffic was loud. Not the fault of the hotel but it could have an impact. We were at the front of the hotel with a seaview and overlooked the road. This was unfortunate but nothing that detracted from our stay.

Location is great, right on the seafront and a short walk to the old and new town. Breakfast was not included but was available with a 20% discount, The food was lovely. Teh staff were very pleasant. The room was clean.
