Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNice lakeside location in the countryside. Clean. Nice big room with lovely bathroom and big bath and shower. Tea-making facilities in room. Good breakfast and evening meal. On golf course and with some nice walks surrounding. We walked into Wakefield which took about an hour and a quarter.

United KingdomBar in leisure area. Unclear as to use. Was told in no uncertain terms by spa staff to go across to the grand cafe bar, we were not able to use leisure center. Told opposite information at main reception.

United KingdomFood wasn’t the best, by all means was good as a first meal but it didn’t blow us away, beer prices very high as well, but a given really with the location of hotel. This won’t by any means deter us from staying again, we will definitely be back!
The location and room were absolutely beautiful, quiet area and amazing comfy lounge.

United KingdomStaff were young with little knowledge about the menu products, a Manager had resigned and the other Manager was on holiday. The staff were rushed off their feet at breakfast, short staffed. But they tried hard.
Room was very spacious, it could be made amazing, but was fine

United KingdomThe evening meal menu was not quite what we had hoped. Not much in the way of choice and being in a rural and quite secluded setting, going somewhere else unless you drove, wasn’t an option. The room was lovely but unbearably hot as it was at the very top of the building so with the all day sun it was like an oven. To be fair though a fan was provided but made no difference in cooling us down.
The setting and the property was beautiful. Staff were excellent. Breakfast was great with a wide variety of options. The spa treatments were absolutely fantastic. Ample parking too.

AustraliaThe slap -dash attitude of the male receptionist as we went to log in. We had had a huge day travelling & felt he just wanted to 'Brush us off!" He might know off by heart the relevant information about Waterton Park, however it was our first experience A little bit of enthusiasm and positivity would have gone along way! The bed that we had was rock solid and maybe in need of an upgrade.
Location as we were able to stay in the Estate historic house. Surrounding area was delightful for walking Surenity

United KingdomThe roms in the main hotel are pretty anodyne, the restaurant feels more like a cafetria and the buffet breakfast was really poor ................ cereal in little boxes just like you would find in an old fashioned B&B years ago for example
The location is fantastic and the rooms and spa on the island are just terrific

United KingdomThe restaurant menu has been greatly reduced since our last visit in the autumn of 2024.
The hotel itself is lovely. We have stayed there a number of times in our chosen part of the hotel. Unfortunately we were unable to stay in one of these rooms and were allocated an upstairs room instead. It was a searingly hot spell and we were unable to open the windows as there were bees outside. Having said that, we spoke to the staff about this problem and they were amazing. They moved us to another room which was not as hot and we were able to open the windows. So, something I really like about the hotel is the caring accommodating staff. The score would most likely have been 9 if we had been in one of our usual rooms.

United KingdomFelt pool should be included in stay and not charged. If there is a wedding, not to put you under the wedding reception with music until 12pm. Appreciate did try and offer a new room but it was 10pm and did receive a 10% discount thank you. Fan needed in room.
Staff very helpful and friendly. Always tried to resolve issues. Location very pretty. Food in resturant very nice .
