Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWhilst the kitchen is reasonably well equipped but there is limited cutlery / crockery. eg two cereal Bowles, three cups, two teaspoons etc. It would really benefit from more. There is a dishwasher but due to the lack of crockery you would need to switch it on at least a couple of times a day. More kitchenware would save on energy and water as you could fill the machine up during your stay and then just switch it on when you start to run out. There is a seperate charge for gas/electricity which was £4.50 a day. This amount is collected during your stay. The fact that we paid £434 for three nights stay I would have expected this cost to be included. As a comparison the large hotel at the side of the river in the village was charging £189 for a double room for two people for the same duration.
The lodge is on a small site away from the local town of Killin. The shower room was modern with a walk in shower, two sinks and a separate toilet. The bed was very comfortable (Queen Size). The location is very quiet. To one side of the lodge is decking and then a small stream which runs down the hillside. The lodge has central heating and was very warm when we needed it.

United KingdomThe decor in the living room could maybe do with a bit of an update. We were also fairly close to the other lodges, though this can't really be helped and it was still very peaceful while we were there.
We generally loved the lodge. The sauna was great, we've never stayed in a lodge with one before and it was lovely and relaxing. The bed was also massive and extremely comfortable. We also enjoyed the shower, the ease of parking and the location was absolutely stunning.

United KingdomNo clothes washing facilities available on site that we knew off or was made aware off. We did not see any staff or management on site and all communication was done through email and phone calls. The decking are at our cabin could be cleaned and maybe power washed or blown clean with a leaf blower. Also the door surrounds out side could be made a little more presentable.
The area is stunning. The site is gorgeous as well. Each cabin is secluded within the site which is amazing.

United KingdomThe weather did not allow us to enjoy the surroundings as we had desired, so we were unable to explore the walks and outdoor opportunities which we had planned.
The location was very pleasant, secluded and quiet - we were certainly able to relax! The cooking facilities were very good.

United KingdomNo wifi, damp smell. It's also labelled 'Waterfall 12', not Waterfall Lodge, so we weren't sure if we'd found the right lodge! Great location but maybe time for a bit of a lodge makeover. Little things: external light hanging on wire, cooker socket not tight to wall, gate not closing, etc.
Location was excellent

United KingdomThe cabin shows noticeable signs of wear and would greatly benefit from some care and maintenance. The most significant issue we encountered was a strong damp smell. Thankfully, we had scented candles with us and were able to keep the windows open for ventilation. It’s also worth noting that towels are not provided—you’ll need to bring your own or pay an additional fee to include them in your booking. Given the price, towel service should really be included.
The cabin is perfectly located, with a charming mini waterfall right outside and surrounded by peaceful woodlands. It’s just a short drive to the main village of Killin. We especially loved the in cabin sauna — a wonderful bonus to our stay. Glenda one of the owners is lovely and has the best chat.

United KingdomIt’s a bit run down on the outside. The living area smelled strongly of dog. Unsure if it’s because of a previous booking combined with the wet weather but the sofa throws smelled as well.

United KingdomVery musty smell when we arrived, disappointed with overall appearance of the property. Looked like it was in need of some tlc, and a lick of paint. Dirt and cobwebs found on the inside of the bedroom window. Other properties on the site looked in much better condition than ours, very disappointed
Good location, nice bathroom and bedroom
