The shower wasn’t very powerful but only a minor issue.

Staff were very friendly and attentive. Rooms were comfortable. Dinner was very good and excellent value for money. Location was perfect near the train station right next to the castle and a fifteen minute walk to the town centre. Really enjoyed our stay.

Some areas required a refresh in terms of paint and decor. Some damaged furniture and paint work.

Excellent location, great size for family.

Would be 11/10 if it had Air Conditioning

I really enjoyed my stay at the Vermont Hotel in Newcastle. The hotel itself is looked after, but what really stood out was the service. Pel on the front desk went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect during my visit. You can tell how hard she works and how much pride she takes in looking after guests. Her effort and professionalism made my stay even better!

Staff at the check-in for the apartments weren’t great. Blunt and rude

Great location. Perfect for a weekend away or a group staying the night. Use of the kitchenette was useful

The bedroom size was smaller than I thought.

The main hotel was very nice and the breakfast excellent but I found the rooms dated and small in size.

Great value for a city break

    • Two-Bedroom Apartment (Situated at The Vermont Aparthotel)
    • Stayed 3 nights

A dripping tap and a leaky shower door in the ensuite bathroom needed attention and was reported to the reception. Due to the age and nature of the building the apartment windows are only single glazed which does allow ambient noise from outside to be heard. However, its a lively city !

The two bedroomed apartment exceeded our expectations especially after reading some negative reviews on alternate review sites. It was clean, very well equipped for those wishing to self cater and easily accessible . The location is a few minutes walk from the water front so can be a little noisy especially at weekends but is to be expected. Reception is 'manned' 24hrs so security is excellent .

The view form our windows was a brick wall which made our room quit dark with little natural light

We visit the Vermont a couple of times a year and have always been greeted by very friendly and helpful staff and the hotel is always clean and is a pleasant environment to stay at.

Needs updating … dust everywhere… had a view of the old bridge over the river but couldn’t see it because the windows were filthy. Hard bed.. room not available at check in .. key card not working… hair dryer broken … no others available…. Phone to reception not working.. I could go on but … hey ho!

Not much to be fair… location was ok for what I needed

The walls are paper thin, all night and in morning we kept thinking the door was open due to the noise we could hear from outside the door. It kept me awake from about 6am. Also the pillows are super bumpy obviously very out dated not comfortable at all

Loved the above bar that is part of the hotel it was super nice way to end the night. The minibar was also well stocked

I did not like having to provide a £50 deposit for one night. I have not encountered this before. I was disappointed to see the amount of litter in the area near the hotel, particularly down the stairs opposite.

The room and beds were very comfortable.

The only thing I can think of was I was waiting a while to check in. There was only 1 person on reception for a while, and they had a customer with an issue. A 2nd colleague did eventually come to serve the rest of the queue.

The room was a great size and very clean. Staff were excellent. Bed was very comfortable.

The showerhead in the bathroom water pressure could be a bit better and some of the hotel is a little worn, but nonetheless, very charming and cozy!

Fantastic hotel in a the heart of Newcastle. The location is amazing; just 5 minutes from the train station, shops, bars, cafes and the quayside area. The staff were incredibly helpful and always had time to assist. Room has a great view of the river and quayside, and was very comfortable and quiet, despite the trains going past, I didn't hear a thing!
