John greeted us and went through the accommodation, explaining all the details. Showed us the fridge with bacon, eggs, yoghurt, milk, butter, 3 x cheese blocks, ham, bottle of water and a bottle of wine.also croissants, bread and a lemon dizzle cake.. This was unexpected and really thoughtful. Later that evening, John came around with a map book and discussed where we could visit, John showed us quite a lot of aces we would never have visited. We were totally thankful for the towns and villages John informed us about as they were picturesque with lovely people. We met Michelle, she was really nice, we had numerous chats with both John and Michelle and loved every minute (4 days too short). We didn't want to come home, really enjoyed our stay, and will definitely be returning in the future. Can't wait. Thanks John & Michelle for a memorable break. Wiliam & Sarah Morgan.

Absolutely nothing

Amazing place, the far reaching views and views over the garden are worth the price of admission alone! An exceptional place to stay, peaceful and relaxing that is Clean as a whistle,. There is everything you need for comfortable accommodation. John the host is very friendly, welcoming and helpful. There is Good Wi-Fi reception and comfy seating. The welcome “basket” of food was surprising, in that there was a lot of it, with dietary options which John will requested nearer to your stay. One of the best places we have ever stayed in. John recommend the DeNorben Arms for lunches snd dinners which is a ten minute drive away. Thanks John hope to be back one day.

Lovely self-contained accommodation with everything of a high quality and lovely views.John, the host, was very friendly, considerate, and helpful. Amazing array of items provided for us to prepare a filling continental breakfast, as well as wine, chocolate cake, and fruit.

Supplies for breakfast were provided. The dog was great, there is everything you would need in the accommodation. Come and go as you please, and very quiet.

This was a self catering arrangement. A wide variety of good quality food was provided in the fridge for us to make our own breakfasts. The studio was characterful and very cosy on chilly autumn evenings. Exceptionally clean and well organised.

Beautiful location,. Property impeccable. The decor and furnishings are beautiful and the annexe has everything you will need. It is like a home from home. We were able to enjoy a lovely relaxing break. John and Michelle are readily available to assist and advise on places to visit or eat. Highly recommended and we will be returning soon .

Found by chance, Ty Derw Country House at Ruthin is a real secret tip. Lovely arranged flat, everything has it's place and is well thought out. Beautiful landscape, very quite surrounding. John and Michelle have been very attentive. Thank you very much, we fully enjoyed our stay and will gladly recommend to others.

Nothing! The hosts thought of everything, even supplying some pods for the washing machine!

My husband and I have traveled using Booking.com for over 10 years. This is the most extraordinary B&B we have stayed at yet! John and his wife converted their historic smithy/ stable into a well appointed, custom designed, cozy, comfortable B&B suite. Attention to detail extends beyond the craftsmanship of the kitchen and en suite bathroom to the lovely meats and cheeses which we found in the refrigerator. The inclusion of Welch cakes with jam and clotted cream was a special bonus. The hosts were so friendly and helpful. John told us about the 2 week window of Virginia Creeper red foliage and even drew us a detailed map using a scenic route to see one of the best examples less than an hour away! Location to walking trails as well as the historic towns of Ruthin, Chester and Llangollen was ideal. This B&B well deserves a 7 star rating or higher!!!
