There is nothing we wer'nt happy with.

Been before so knew what to expect, room clean and well equipped, nice little touches in kitchenette area, own little fenced garden area with patio doors leading out to it, couple minutes and straight out onto new forest, perfect for walking our dog, pub is welcoming, nice garden with undercover areas to eat if pub is full, lovely cooked breakfast and added cereals, fruit and yogurt, perfect quiet location with good chance of seeing the ponies and foals right outside in the carpark , which did this morning, can't wait to visit again.

Fantastic location. 100m from open new forest. Decent sized room with a kitchenette. Comfortable bed and great shower. Nice patio area to sit out in. Pub has a good selection of drinks and great home cooked food. Close to many attractions. Will definitely stay again.

    Not having another nights stay

The Turfcutters Arms was a real surprise, not so much a room over a pub but one of 3 self-contained units, including kitchen/self-catering facilities in a ground floor barn conversion with a thatched roof. Simon the landlord and all the staff very more than helpful. Excellent breakfasts using locally sourced food as too with evening meals. Well away from the busy towns it proved to be an excellent location to tour around the New Forest, including Beaulieu on the doorstep. In the Bar there is an accumulated display of vintage Hornby O Gauge Toy Trains.

It didn't really bother us but there was a party / disco in the garden with loud music until about 1045. Others would have found it intrusive so maybe a warning could be sent to people staying but not attending the party. This comment does not affect our rating.

The staff were friendly and helpful. There was a good selection of real ale and a good pub menu with a specials board. Friends joined us for a meal and we all thought it excellent. Breakfast was also excellent with the nice additional touch of a punnet of local fresh strawberries. The room was clean and spacious with a fridge, microwave, and an outside terrace with a table to sit at. Good beer garden as well. Overall it was excellent value and what you would expect if staying in a country pub.

At first didn’t know what to make of the place but it definitely grew on me. A lot of quirky stuff but the pub was great and the food even more so. The accommodation was everything we needed including a bath as we were walking.

The room was clean, comfortable, and spacious, with just the right amount of equipment. It was really nice to have the enclosed area—great for our dog and handy for keeping the donkeys, horses, and cows out! We also ate at the pub and enjoyed the good atmosphere and delicious food.

A few mins away from a wedding location this was perfect. Great communication from Simon re: unexpected power cut on the Sunday morning but arranged for 8.30 breakfast before power loss. Lovely pub ,great atmosphere too. Only had starters but other guests commented on the food especially the steaks.Easy parking and very quiet.
