Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United Arab EmiratesThe heating is a bit of a faff, but by the second day we knew what we were doing.
We really enjoyed staying at the property. Very homely and well thought out. The location is fabulous too as it’s close to bridge to Skye and also there is a Co-op just around the corner.

United KingdomThe rain! Not your fault! 😆 Haha
Very cosy and homely and well thought out. It was especially great that there were toys for the kids. :) The purple dinosaur was a big hit!!!! I also liked that the property was well stocked and equipped with basic consumables which really helped when having kids with us.

United KingdomFinding out on arrival that there was no modern central heating system and the only way to get the radiators warm was to light a fire for an hour at least. Electric radiators are available but don’t heat the property in the same way. I would have appreciated this being made clear in the property description.
The property feels like a home from home. The welcome pack was great and lots of additional items to make the stay comfortable. We really appreciated the maps and guidebooks to the area. The location is great for exploring Skye and the mainland.

Czech RepublicI didn't like the way of heating, especially the bathroom.
It was nice that the hosts surprised us with a small purchase (fresh bread, milk, marmalade...). excellently equipped kitchen, all sorts of appliances.

United KingdomFor the price we paid we couldn’t have expected anything more from the property. One note for repair maybe - due to the storms the gutters were a bit overwhelmed with the rainwater and it was gushing over at the front of the house - might be a blockage but also might have been that there was so much water !
It’s homely, has everything for a short stay and is cosy and comfy especially during the winter months. Nice touch to be greeted with a small selection of essentials (coffee/tea/sugar/oil/milk). Yes the bathroom remains chilly as other guests have commented but it didn’t impact our stay at all. The kids enjoyed the small selection of toys and crafting available and we went walking every day - tons to see and explore locally and the house was a perfect refuge from the winter storms. Kids particularly liked exploring the waterfalls at Balmacara and trekking around The Plock as well as visiting the lighthouse and otter / bird hide just down by the Bridge. Hosts were available at all times, super communicative, friendly and welcoming. All the very best !

SpainThe bathroom seemed to have no heating that worked and was absolutely freezing. I think for the time of year that we stayed, then better heaters could be provided as takes ages for cool fire to heat up room, so was freezing in sitting room and kitchen.
Overall, everything was excellent and a great find Lovely touch with Christmas decorations and hamper.

United KingdomThe coal fire was tricky to heat and made the house a bit smelly, so we preferred using the electric heaters.
The location was perfect - within walking distance from the supermarket and the bridge to the Isle of Skye, tucked away on a quiet dead-end road but within easy reach of the main road. A cosy house with room for 6 people, a well-equipped kitchen and a little back yard.
