It was a hot night and the replacement fans kindly provided did not keep the room cool enough to sleep. There was a wedding party downstairs which was loud till about 11pm.

Breakfast was good although because there was a wedding party there was only the buffet, not the wider menu. The staff were very nice and replaced the broken fan in the room.

Although clean , decor and furnishings need refurbishment in both bedroom and bathroom. Appreciate this costs money and with hospitality in the UK under threat can understand why it hasn’t been done.

Great location and excellent on site parking. We had a queen size room so spacious. Staff were very friendly and helpful - any queries were quickly dealt with. Lovely Victorian building, full of character rather than a bland travel lodge or premier inn. Restaurant has been refurbished and was a lovely place to dine in.

The Hotel holds a lot of functions at weekends and you are offered the menu if you wish to eat in. Friendly Staff who are there if you need anything Good Breakfast value for money Lovely room but shower not very powerful

Decor in our room slight scruffy. Thin walls meant that we heard our neighbour’s snoring loudly. Required to provide a time we were coming for breakfast the night before which seemed a bit demanding. Bar closed before 10.

The price was high for the quality. The hotel is very outdated and in need a of a major refresh. The main area was musty with a mouldy smell. The room was clean but old and musty.

Unfortunately I got locked in the bathroom, an unpleasant experience but I can't blame the hotel as it was due to something a previous occupier had done. To read the menu & info in our room you had to be able to use a QR code-not something we can do.

This is our second 2 night stay this year. The food was excellent- can recommemd the steak & ale pie! Breakfast was lovely too. Lovely room with a view. Staff very helpful.

No lift. Outdated info; said there was no lunch served on Saturdays, but turned out there was. No aircon (but no surprise in an older building).

Location and town facilities. Some rooms with bathtub! Friendly, helpful staff. Breakfast ok.

The breakfast although nice was missing key elements as had run out. This was a little disappointing, as was a weekday where shops nearby would have been open to restock

We arrived back at around 2245 and there was a used tray outside the first room as you went upstairs. I walk with a walking stick and unfortunately when we left in the morning the tray was still there, I didn’t see it, slightly tripped and stood in the food. Not great it was still outside just under 12 hrs later.

It was in the perfect location for a wedding we attended locally

The room was spacious, as was the bathroom. Quiet and lovely views out of the window. Stayed in the superior queen room. Car park to the side and rear of the hotel. Took our dog. The fee was an additional £10 Restaurant on site closes at 9pm, but selection of takeaways close by.
