How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

The jacuzzi was broken at the pool during our stay, which was a shame. The children's swimming times could be slightly restrictive for some people depending on your plans.
Nice spacious family room. Breakfast was lovely. The pool was good. Loads of free parking.

The sporadic way in which the breakfast items were served to customers. It appeared to me that the room was very short staffed, leading to a number of problems. Even though each member of Staff was responsive, I didn't think there was enough backup. EG No eggs, then waiting..... eggs now come out... Now, no bacon .....bacon comes out after 5 minutes. Cold plates from the stack.....why are they cold?? Not the staff fault....not enough staff. Cold breakfast once everything is presented. This is not how you want your hotel to look, is it? You've got good staff. I felt sorry for them....not their fault....not enough staff to assist.

A bit of road noise from the motorway but not intrusive and couldn’t really hear it in the bedroom.
Ease of access from the M1. Great reception. Room was large and comfortable. The spa pool was good and the sauna and steam room were very good. Food in the restaurant was very good and good value. Friendly staff in the restaurant and they were very helpful.

Unfortunately at the time we visited the spa treatments section was closed for refurb, this wasn’t mentioned prior to our arrival. We also had a short wait for our room to be prepared even though we arrived on time. The staff on reception were very apologetic though and provided a free drinks voucher
Free and plentiful parking, lovely spacious room which was clean and well equipped. Comfortable beds. Really lovely breakfast. I enjoyed the pool.

If there is an event on, customers should be made aware before booking/ coming.
The hotel is lovely and quiet, the beds are so comfy and the rooms and hotel is clean. The spa is clean and a lovely pool. Will definitely return again

The light in the corridor was so bright it came through under the door which was a little annoying but can't be helped too much!
The bedding was so soft and comfy! The staff were great in accommodating for me and my pregnancy, they provided extra pillows for me and a fan as well as lots of water which was well appreciated!

Our room on closer inspection was dirty. Still fake rose petals and little Birthday confetti across the floor and especially under the bed.
Great staff, perfect sized room for us. Really enjoyable breakfast.

The room was a fantastic size for 2 adults & 2 children aged 9 & 11. The facilities were excellent, especially the pool, sauna, hot tub & steam room. Bar is well stocked, plus plenty of outdoor space to relax in. Staff is very helpful. Great location with plenty of parking. Definitely value for money.

It’s not so much of a dislike but if I was being fussy the room fittings appeared a little dated maybe. All very clean though. It’s a great stay if you’re not looking for the bells and whistles.

It was quite noisy, could hear people talking/TV next door and upstairs were noisy.
