Have come here 3 times over the last few years and each time the breakfast offering becomes less to the point they now charge an extra 5 pounds for porridge!! Come on

Breakfast we were put on a table that had people back and forth on both sides so felt like we were in the way. We were right next to the food so we’re constantly having people stood right next to us

OK, i think you they should drop the part about having a gym and spar, it is not really there, it the other side of the city. Say you can use it, but it is not part of the hotel. I did know this when booking, but it was not very clear. Also, it sort of needs another room for just sitting in with people away from the bar, like a lounge or something like that. For me these are all minor points.

The staff were nice, the room was nice and clean, and welcoming.

The mattress could do with an upgrade as it was awful for my back. Needs a new shower screen as it kept leaking and water went all over the floor, i had to mop it up twice with towels.

The room was poorly decorated and quality could have been better. Starter course from restaurant was poor value.

Bathroom was a little "tired"

Lovely characterful building, spacious room, close to town centre location, cheerful, friendly staff who were very helpful. Good value. Dinner and Breakfasts delicious.

Getting to the hotel car park was convoluted and not not obvious

I went to attend a wedding as the photographer . The venue has an excellent wedding package for all budgets. I was especially impressed by Charlotte- the in house wedding planner

When I arrived I drove past the hotel three times trying to find the entrance to the car park, and couldn't, so was forced to park in a side street and carry everything to the hotel. The car park is not signposted nor does it say anywhere I could find on the website that you have to put a completely different address into your GPS in order to find it. I tried phoning the hotel to ask directions but my call went unanswered. When I arrived at the hotel, the receptionist on duty on the Sunday evening was completely disinterested in the situation so the stay got off to a poor start. Apart from that, the price of meals and drinks is exorbitant. I presume the building is listed and that is why the rooms have single glazing, so there is some traffic noise.

Spacious room. Good breakfast - poached eggs excellent. Quiet - I was not aware of anyone else being in the hotel once I was in my room. Most staff very friendly and helpful.

Doors were slamming throughout the evening and night. Not inconsiderate guests, just heavy doors! Very bright security light outside window..

There were times that some of the staff were unfriendly & a little abrupt. It was often a challenge to get service during breakfast or the table cleared. The bar prices were expensive.

We were on the 3rd floor the room was very hot and the window had to be kept open but it was next to the noisy road

I would like to be put in a 'normal' twin bed room with a shower that works. The room allocated to me was for those with disabilities with extra handles on the door - that was fine, but the shower needs fixing. The big round knob to adjust volume and temperature of water would not turn and it took me 3-4 minutes to get the water to a temperature that is slightly hot, but not quite hot enough to have a relaxing shower - this is poor facility! It advertised on Booking.com that there is a gym but in fact it is 20 minutes away and with additional charges to use it. I think the information should be clearer at the outset.

The breakfast was good. Check out was easy. There was a space to park my car on the hotel ground.
