Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomNothing really springs to mind as we were very well looked after during our stay and during the meals we had at the Woolpack.
The Woolpack is in a central location in Tenterden. The staff are really friendly and helpful. The menu has some very nice meal choices including vegetarian and gluten free. Our room was a nice size and the best was comfortable. Would stay again.

United KingdomThe room was quite dark and it was difficult to get a good mirror to do makeup. Also I took an extension lead as there was no mirrors with reach for a hairdryer
Loved the quirky pub with its wonky walls and floors, loved the history of the place

United KingdomRoom was basic - too basic for the £170 per night price tag. TV didn’t work very well, bathroom very tired and no proper shower head or mixer so hard to use. Macerator toilet very noisy. Building work going on next door that we were not made aware of.
Good location in the middle of town with on site parking. Good food (we had lunch and breakfast) and friendly staff. Comfortable nights sleep.

United KingdomVery noisy after closing time. Could hear a lot tidying up and moving furniture... might be an idea to provide earplugs! Bathroom very noisy but understandably so given the age of the property but did not add to a relaxing shower!
Friendly staff. Great breakfast. Great location.

NetherlandsThe rooms on the top floor were a bit warm, but the provided fan helped a lot
Very authentic and lovely place, nicely located near major attractions like Sissinghurst, Great Dixter House and Battle Abbey. Tetterigden is also a nice town for a short walk. The food is excellent, both for breakfast and dinner. And best of all is the very friendly staff. Highly recommended!

United KingdomThe only negative would be the shower. And I understand that being a 15th Century Inn, that in that bathroom a usual shower type of cubicle may not have been possible. It was a shower head in the bath which we managed with and we were only there one night so it wasn't a problem. Had we been there longer though it would have been nice to have an actual shower. A huge plus was the lovely slopey floors in the bathroom. It was spacious and the toiletries provided were lovely.
Lovely, friendly staff. No pressure, just very relaxed and efficient. We booked with two dogs, and ended up having to bring another which wasn't a problem - we just paid the extra. A lovely big bowl of water was delivered to the room for the dogs along with one bed - would have been nice to have an extra bed but we also brought things for them to sleep on in case they needed their own things so it wasn't an issue. Our bed was lovely and comfortable, with lovely linens. It was a hot day and there was a fan on the dresser which kept us cool during the night - very much appreciated! We came and went during our stay, and a key was provided so that we could take the dogs out for a wee in the night if they needed one.

United KingdomAccess to car park was restricted due to ongoing building work next door and resulted in car being covered in dust and grit - wool pack cannot be held responsible but would have been good to be made of it beforehand.
Great hotel in a good location- unfortunately have some building work going on next door however don’t let that put you off as it didn’t impact the experience- started after 9.00 and finished before 4.00pm. Staff are great, provide useful advice and very friendly. Food was good and good portion size - a good choice of food on the menu

United KingdomI found the bed comfortable but it didn't suit my husband, pillows are great. It is a noisy high street during the day and evening, cars can roar through at night so disturb if the window is open. We stayed on one of the hottest days/nights of the year so far and were thoughtfully provided with an oscillating fan, but there is no aircon, so it was a rather loud and hot evening! Ask to stay at the rear of the property if you want a more peaceful evening.
Quirky property and room. Nothing is straight, walls or floors, which adds to the charm of a 15th century building. Location is excellent and there is some parking available at the rear of the property. Lovely wholesome breakfast included in our stay. If you have an evening meal try the beetroot cured salmon, a real treat. The room was on the hotel front overlooking the main street. Most necessary amenities required for a short stay are there or available. The staff are exceptionally friendly and accommodating especially Georgina and Dwayne.

United KingdomNothing.
The staff were really friendly and the pub/rooms were spotless. Only the extremely hot weather (33C!) made our stay uncomfortable. They had provided extra fans. It’s a beautiful building in the centre of town of Tenterden. Perfect to visit the Chapel Down vineyard and stay over!
