We just thought it needed freshening up a bit ,but it was a lovely hotel and would go back .

Problems with the drainage from the shower, which was otherwise good with lots of space and perfect water pressure and temperature control.

Doune is a lovely place to visit, and The Woodside was, on the whole, a really nice stylish and welcoming place to stay. The choice of food and drinks and the service from the staff were excellent. My room was very well equipped and cosy, although the drainage from the shower was poor [maybe a maintenance issue for the management]. I chose the Sunday roast for my main meal, and it was the best I've had in a long time with generous helpings of the most tender beef, served alongside a good selection of vegetables. Breakfast was also very good and a nice touch is that the room price included what was a varied selection of choices from the Woodside's continental menu but guests, if their appetites allowed, could add a decent range of cooked breakfast options. The bar and external patio areas are well stocked with a good range of drinks, and a nice selection of malt whiskies stood out, but the internal seating area was a bit cramped.

Great place to stay. Very polite staff, our flight was delayed and we were able to check in very late and they waited us for our arrival. Unfortunately we stayed there only a night and left the next morning so we were not able to properly enjoy the hotel but highly recommend.

WiFi poor. Noise from road noticeable. A little confusing over breakfast and not sure how it worked from the menu and had to ask,. Confusion over breakfast charges when booking and unable to obtain a straight answer on email.

The location was lovely. The hotel clean and comfortable. Good breakfast. Bed comfortable. Plenty of parking. Good outside seating. A basket of goodies to eat and tea and coffee in room to good standard.

Breakfast was a little sparse but acceptable. Could have paid extra for cooked breakfast. Storm Floris put a halt to our visit of the area, so headed home.

Clean comfortable and very friendly/helpful staff. Had a very nice evening meal in restaurant, however quite pricey but well cooked and presented. Room was small but well equipped , single glazing didn’t help much with traffic noise, but understand as it is an old building.

Updated boutique hotel with a fabulous restaurant. The food was the highlight after a fun day of touring! The weather was warmer than usual so the fans in each room made it pleasant. All the staff were very accommodating and friendly.

I had a latte from the coffee machine in the morning and it was barely lukewarm. Also the bananas at breakfast were very green and unripe and were not good to eat at all. I’m Not marking down on this as these are easily fixed as continual improvement in hospitality is the norm.

We had a great stay at the Woodside. We actually returned as we stayed here last year. The staff were great and we really appreciated the room fan. The room was very comfortable and we had great sleep. The location is great also as a base for walking in nearby Callander. Overall a great stay.

When we have stayed previously, a full Scottish breakfast has been included in the price but this now incurs a supplement, something we did not realise at the time of booking. However, other breakfast items are included in the cost of the room.

The hotel is conveniently located for visiting various local attractions. It is set back off the road and has plenty of parking space. All of the staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful. We dined in the restaurant both evenings and enjoyed our meals, plenty of choice and reasonably priced.
