Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIf you’re wanting some quietness maybe stay elsewhere as they have a pub just below where karaoke is so it can be very loud.
Good location, friendly staff!

United KingdomThe actual bedroom and double bed were rather cramped with a single bed squeezed in as well. More hooks for clothes and towels would have been helpful.
Good location for us for a family party. The room had a large en-suite and a small fridge. There were no staffed catering facilities, but a reasonably provisioned kitchen for guest use. The accommodation was upstairs from the pub, but noise was not a problem because the rooms are not directly above the pub.

United KingdomI didn't mind but it is part of a pub that does karaoke and weddings etc, so there's music playing to 1am . So if you're looking for a quiet Saturday night in a hotel room.. then probably not for you. This isn't a complaint or anything.
Nice wee hotel, very close to train station and not fair from town centre.

United KingdomThe shower wasn't the greatest but it served the purpose. The rooms maybe lack a bit of character, very basic with not comfort , cozy feeling to them but again served the purpose.
The girl who booked us in was lovely, very warm and friendly and great customer service skills, the room was basic but clean and functional, the location was great, the self service breakfast room was a great unexpected touch. We would definitely stay again.

United KingdomLack of a full breakfast and it being provided on a fully “serve yourself” basis, with the main options being cereal and toast. Needs more power sockets in the rooms for charging phones and other devices.
The location was handy for the town centre but not actually in the centre, there was a good sized car park, the bar was lively on Saturday but not too lively , and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

United KingdomWouldn’t really recommend for a family on a Saturday night. Music blasting til 2am was not great. Not blaming the hotel at all as I should have asked the question before booking. Just bare this in mind if you book a stay.
Facilities were good, more than you might need for a one or two night stay. Breakfast was supplied but there was no milk for cereals. Room was spotless and spacious, beds comfy. Location good.

United KingdomCouldn't open windows as the room was above beer garden so filled with smoke everytime a punter from the bar went outside, had to listen to drunk talk, no respect from punters in the bar that people maybe in rooms trying sleep. Broken until midnight meaning may as well give up trying to sleep until then. 1. No fan in room 2. No condiments or kettle 3. No extra bedding and apparently none available when asked. 4. Single plug socket on a 'quadruaple' room 5. Facilities provided similar to a shared 'youth gostel' approach. 6. Wallpaper falling off ceiling. 7. Ebay quality thin sprung mattress. 8. Holes in wall. 9. Tiny shower cubical, not the easiest to.use 10. Early wakes up from.5am.when traffick 'thunders' down main road. Charged £105.00 per night, better quality and value at a local hostel. Absolutely not value for money and no where near any expectation you would have for a room at that cost per night. 3 star hotels are cheaper!!
Self catering facilities available and fridge in room, although pointless aa nothing else provided

United KingdomNothing. Amenities were basic, don't get me wrong. But incredibly clean and exactly what I wanted. If ur wanting a luxury night away, pay the money to go somewhere fancy. If u need a lovely basic but clean place, with a bed, ensuite, telly and a wee fridge to use. Place was perfect. Cannot recommend for a central location or staff enough x
Staff were just wonderful. So were the locals. Made u feel like a home from home. Big thank u to nicola for showing me around the place and where I could get, tea, coffee toast etc. Down to earth, great hospitality.

United KingdomShower broke. Stuck on full heat meaning it was impossible to use. No staff around when It happened so I couldn't get it repaired. The bar is busy and there were people singing in it until late at night. This meant that it was very noisy in my room and I struggled to get any sleep.
Staff were super friendly and helpful. The location is great and the facilities are good. The room was small but I knew this when I booked so no complaints. The kitchen facilities are great. It's near the town centre.

United KingdomWe weren't informed beforehand that this hotel is used by the council to house homeless and others with needs. The security lock going into the accommodation area didn't work, the room door never even had an anti-bump lock, no bedroom door and the room didn't even smell fresh and was in poor condition with missing ripped wallpaper along with a mattress that actually had a slope on it. To be fair the bathroom was nice as it looked like it had been recently done. There was no tea or coffee available in the room although it was advertised and our stay also included breakfast which there was no mention of. It should have been 2 nights but we left as soon as we could in the morning, the worst night we'd ever had in a hotel.
The staff were friendly and helpful and the bar lounge area was tidy and well finished.
