Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainThe only thing is that I didn't mind the sound of the trains passing more so the fan that was on in our room making a lot of noise and I got a horrible cold from it blowing the entire night directly in my direction. I didn't know as did any of the girls I shared an accomodation with if we could turn it off so if we could absolutely no problems whatsoever but just that
Everything. The staff were so friendly, every place I went to was clean, I felt very safe and welcome. I loved the times that were allowed for the kitchen and free breakfast and so on. The location was amazing and for amazing price.

TurkeyStayed in 26 beds mixed room and I must say that I was very comfortable with everything. There's a great privacy of yours thanks to curtains around your bed. Every bed has its own curtains and charging point with and adaptable light. The lamps were also designed for each bed to enjoy light if fancied. Before coming here I had to rebook my reservation and they helped me immediately. I am happy the way they communicaye and help to customers/guests. 1 star is missing due to pillow quality and the room to be hot due to no AC. Yet I have seen AC is not popular in England. Only fans. I was by the windows on each side of my bed so I was lucky to have fresh air. Wifi was awful yet the reception was good. I stayed only 1 day. If I would stay more, I would definitely need them to solve the wifi issue. Waterloo is very active and crowded. Lots of bars and markets. I had no prob with train noise as it seems very rare during the night. If you are coming from a very quiet place, you can not be happy here. Breakfast is a bonus and it's for free. Water is also free at the bar. The staff and Mr. İmran was very kind and helpful. Thanks for everything.

AustraliaBuilding needs some serious upgrades. Stairs up to the rooms have broken off in parts (old building yes, but unsafe). No sockets in my dorm only a shared one at one end of the room that only half the room could use easily. No space in my particular dorm for our bags (very small room) and no under bed storage as mattresses were under there.
Staff are great. Location great (train doesn’t bother me). Free breakfast.

AzerbaijanBathrooms could use some maintenance, and the sound of passing trains can be disruptive—especially for light sleepers.
The location is fantastic, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The attached pub adds a unique charm, and the complimentary breakfast is a nice touch. That said, rooms are quite compact,

ArgentinaIt wasn't completely clean. My bed didn't have light. I didn't feel completely safe as there were constant reminders that you should keep your valuables with you all the time ( I can''t take my documents and laptop with me everywhere). I mean, nothing happened but I didn't like that feeling
The location was the best. It is near some of the main attractions and the waterloo station. I liked it that it has breakfast. The staff was really nice. It had curtains, which gave me some privacy

United StatesI was not provided a towel, so be aware to bring your own for your showers. I personally didn't have an issue with the noise, but the close proximity to both a very walkable street with restaurants and an underground station meant there was noticeable noise from trains and people most of the night. The hostel did provide earplugs for all guests on your bed.
Location was amazing. I could walk to the West End and see Westminster, Big Ben, and the London Eye or walk 5 minutes to the underground and be almost anywhere in the city in less than half an hour. The hostel itself is on the end of a street with tons of restaurants, shops, and a great overall atmosphere. The free breakfast provided didn't have a huge variety of options but what was available was great quality and very tasty. The rooms were clean and comfortable and I felt very safe during my entire stay.

ItalyThe only downsides were the absence of an elevator and the lack of privacy curtains around the bed, which could have made the stay more comfortable.
Overall, the stay was very pleasant. The breakfast was quite good and added to the positive experience

United KingdomThere was nothing we didnt like.
We loved the central location. The Walrus is dated but that adds to the charm of the building. Breakfast was basic but good enough to start the day. There is a lot of places to eat next to the Walrus and a co-op opposite. The staff were friendly and helpful.

AustraliaIt was right on the Train line so very noisy although we knew this when booking. (The trains ran from 6am until about 1 am). There are very limited showers and toilets (1 toilet on each floor and 2 showers). The one right near our room didn’t work the whole time we were there which was disappointing considering we paid for a twin room not a bed in a dorm and the other shower area was tiny and had no hanging space or anywhere to put your clothes. The web site mentioned an iron which is incorrect and while they do offer luggage storage after check out for 3£ per bag there is no option to pay for a shower. ( not great when you fly late in the evening ).
It was in a fabulous location close to the metro and in walking distance to the Thames and Big Ben. Our room ( a private twin) was nice and bright with 2 windows but we needed the windows open as it was a bit musty with some marks on the walls.( mould.??). Staff were helpful and friendly.
