The stairwell and rooms above the pub have a bit of a musty smell, but it is an old building so that's to be expected. I propped the window open a bit to let in a breeze to air out the room and cool it down. I was happy to find that the outside patio area right outside our window was not loud as other reviews had mentioned only a low murmur. We were on the second floor so we didn't hear any noise from inside the pub. Little bit of mildew in the shower and there was a spider that poked his head out of the cable raceway on the second night and gave me a fright, but what are you going to do right?

The hotel is conveniently situated on a main road very close to the train station. Lots of food and shops around. The check in and out process is simple and straightforward. The staff were nice. The bed was comfortable. If you go up the street just a bit there is a stairway on the left which takes you on a path around a castle and you can look down on the upstairs patio area of the pub (see photos). Its a short walk and a nice evening view of the city. The cost was a little steep for us but I think it was fair value for Shrewsbury. There is a Greggs nearby and I it was recommended to me that I try the sausage rolls. They are so delicious. I also recommend, if you have the time, a day trip to Shropshire if you enjoy gorgeous walks in nature.

Lot of stairs to the top floor, Noise from beer garden due to late licence. However this was communicated by the hotel prior to arrival, and was not really a major issue for us. But just to be aware

Great location. Very hot weekend a Fan was provided in room & Bottles of water, which were appreciated

Problem climbing stairs up to the third floor.

No breakfast. But room was adequate. Shower room was small. Just about fitted in there. Beds were clean and comfy. Great spot just up from train station and the high St for shopping.

The bathroom sink, Room 6, was a little small and trying to wash / shave meant water splashing on the floor, and the room was a little tired ie., a few things were in need of a little TLC, hence I can't give it top marks, but all in all it was great for what I needed. I would stay again, but 2 or 3 nights top.

The location was spot on for friends in a nearby hotel and most importantly, the railway station. It was comfortable and convenient, clean enough and was basically what I expected. I also liked that being on the top floor I didn't hear the Saturday night music being blasted out in the pub by the resident DJ. I slept very well. I only saw 2 staff all weekend, but everything was ready when I checked in. Plenty of tea bags / coffee sachets etc in the room.

the pub and corridors are very scruffy indeed worn out carpet and decorations, and the window in my room hadnt been cleaned for years, also i found the glass smooth shower tray with no rubber mat supplied a MAJOR heath risk,

i was in room 4 for 3 nights and found the hotel to be quiet throughout my stay, great possion in town ,the room and bathroom were tiny but done the job ,reasonably clean with a good shower hot water small but working TV and comfortable bed,WIFI was also good , didnt really have any contact with the staff except getting my room key so cant really comment,

This didn't bother me too much but as the room is right above the main part of the pub and the window goes to the front of the pub, the noise at the weekends was quite loud. Not hugely an issue for me but some may find that bothersome.

The room was super comfy, the location is fantastic, it's right by the station and basically right in town. The staff were really great and I had a lovely stay!

The property is very old and there are 2 very steep flights of stairs with doors in between. We only had carry on size cases and were grateful that we did, as it would have been very hard to navigate the stairs with large cases. The corridors were very smelly with a dank, musty odour and the bathroom was very small. The bathroom door is a slat door, unable to be shut properly so it offers limited privacy .

We chose this property for its close proximity to the railway station. It is also close to the shopping centre and to cafes and small supermarkets. The staff were friendly, bed was comfortable and the room was clean.

It was a little noisy on the first night we stayed (Friday). They had a rave on downstairs in the bar which I think was a special event. However on the Saturday, a regular weekend night, we didn't hear any noises whatsoever. It wouldn't put me off staying again.

Great location, close to town center. Room was clean & beds were comfy. Bathroom was quite small but they have done well with limited space in such a old building. Room had iron, hair dryer, small heater and kettle with accessories. And was given keys to the venue to come and go as we pleased.
