Beautiful gardens provided fabulous walks. Hotel cats provided friendly head butt's and amusing attempts to break into the dining room for dinner. Super staff provided everything else, including lovely evening meal and delicious breakfast burritos!

Very comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. Sat outside for evening drinks and had great views. Breakfast was freshly cooked and plentiful. Staff helpful and friendly.

Room was a little dusty on top of the mirrors, also main lampshade had cobwebs Was looking forward to breakfast only to be let down, bacon was dry as if it had been kept warm for to long, beans came cold. Ended up having a banana for breakfast, so a bit pricey for a banana, did bring it to thel staff attention but nothing was done about it.

Room with balcony, the room was amazing, beautiful views over the gardens.

Thr beds

We stayed here twice, a week apart. The first stay was lovely and we were very happy overall. The only downside was the bed which was very firm and not the most comfortable for us, though some people might like that. On our second stay, in a different room, we had the same issue with the bed being uncomfortable. Unfortunately, dinner on the second visit really let things down. At first, the waiter offered water but then he completely forgot about us. About half an hour later he apologised and took our order, and I must say the food itself was lovely. However, service continued to be poor. After clearing away, he said he’d bring dessert menus but forgot again, so I had to go and get them myself. Then he forgot to come back to take our dessert order, and when we looked around, all the staff were out the back on break. Other guests were also waiting and trying to find someone. In the end, we gave up and just paid before heading to bed. To top things off, I also got stuck in the bathroom when the lock jammed, my sister found it funny, but I honestly thought I might have to sleep in the bath! Such a shame, because the hotel has potential and our first experience was so positive.

Nothing. I could find small things to improve but it wouldnt feel like I was doing the place justice. We were entirely satisfied.

Really charming rural setting with beautifully maintained grounds, friendly staff, comfortable rooms and wonderful original fixtures and fittings throughout.

The bed was a bit small for two adults, and it wasn't as comfortable as I would have liked. There was a funny smell when you walked into the reception. I know this is an old building. However, it wasn't very inviting, especially as this is what you first encounter.

The location was very scenic and loved that it was based in a victorian house. The room was a good size, and the vegan options for breakfast were decent.

It was quite warm and windows didn't open very wide to let in the cool breeze so bedroom was still hot at night. Small fan provided but not enough.

Beautiful grounds and the old world charm of the house was wonderful. Great breakfast served in a very elegant setting. Plenty of walking areas close to house, very rural feel.

Poor breakfast Bacon was tough and dry like it had been kept warm for hours beans were lukewarm told the waitress and the only response was “Ok”

The food here is excellent, both breakfast and evening meals. With a great selection to choose from (even the local 'Oatcakes') at breakfast and all our special wishes were catered for. For a period house nicely modernised and very comfortable a lovely Hotel, just the bathroom was a little tight for me as a big man, so point dropped there.

Nothing to criticise.

Perfect countryside location for an old country house.acres of grounds , plenty of outdoor seating surrounded by baskets of flowers and trees I can’t fault it. Dining room olde world , plenty of tables all nicely laid.Evening meal and wine excellent, plenty of choice. Bedroom quiet and bed comfortable excellent shower immaculately clean. A peaceful relaxing environment in every part of the hotel , even the resident cats were sociable !
