Rooms beginning to get tired, although owner says that they are gradually refurbishing. Room had no air-conditioning and ensuite bathrooms are a bit small. Some guests might find the food portions too generous.

Staff were very helpful and friendly. Owner was on site and visible to all patrons, even taking time out to join locals and guests in the hotel bar. Locals were very welcoming. Food was exceptional, particularly as one of us is vegan.. On Sunday there was neither lunch not dinner served - instead there was high tea. Visitors from Australia will learn the true meaning of this - fork-and-knife meal which slots in between late lunch and early dinner, followed by more scones and cakes than you can eat, all washed down with plenty of tea, coffee and whatever else you choose. Non-residents took party bags of cakes home with them. if anything this stay was even better than our 2024 visit. Old-style hotel with personal feel, beautiful woodwork and feature stained glass illuminated stairs. Russel Flint prints, which I love. Great location for exploring this part of Fife.

They had a problem with there water which meant a pump was intermittently running all new night. Not great. Staff were a bit strange, like fawlty towers.

Everything was okay.

Lovely grounds around it. Freshly cooked food,just a little over the normal portion. Lovely old mansion/hotel to stay in. It was good the longer breakfast times,didn't need to get up early!

I can't really think of anything that I didn't like in any way. The building work did not bother us. We had breakfast and were gone each day before it started. Maybe the bar could open a little later!

All staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. The full breakfast was very good quality and there was plenty of it. We got horrendously delayed by train issues coming up from London. I called the hotel and they could not have been more helpful. We didn't get there until 10.15pm and they allowed us to check in that late and gave us the keys. It took a great deal of stress out of the situation!

Spruce up the toilet/shower area

Staff very pleasant . Food excellent. Room comfortable as was bed. TV and tea making facilities fine. Shower room a bit run down. Rusty radiator but actual shower was fine.

Noise from bar/restaurant speaker system could be heard in room. Started at 5am so was awoken then.

My room was lovely.... But at 4.00am there was a loud thumping noise...? Generator or pump that was then constant. This was the only small thing. It's been worse in other hotels I have stayed at .......Other than that I would highly recommend it..

The location, it's a beautiful building and so happily situated. The staff were brilliant. Couldn't do enough for us. so very very friendly, courteous and professional. It had a family run feel. I would definitely stay again

I didn't get a great night's sleep as the velux window blind wasn't very effective, letting light in, and there was some external plant and machinery which came on and off through the night

Bathroom was tiny and therefore hard to use. Some of the car park out of use due to construction but I assume this will get finished in due course.

Excellent breakfast with good choices and generous portions. A full Scottish set me up for the day.

Room was very warm and the Velux window was very difficult to open. No other issues.

Superb location near a beautiful coastal park. Very peaceful. Friendly staff and a great cooked breakfast. Comfortable stay in a very welcoming hotel. I visit Kirkcaldy a lot during the year and this place is now my No 1 choice.

There was a very noisy wedding reception right under my room, which I was advised of while checking in. I wasn’t particularly bothered because the hotel has to make money and you can’t stop people from enjoying themselves; I simply retired to the bar, had a large glass of wine and went through my emails until the party finished. The manager apologized profusely to me, but I told him there was no need (my late Dad was in the travel business for his entire career and I understand how these things work).

I liked the restaurant and the bar; my dinner was excellent and the serving staff were pleasant, helpful and efficient.

There was an event on the Saturday night that was loud and the sound insulation is terrible. I didn't stay the last night because of this. I have contacted the hotel and I'd recommend people check if there are events planned for their chosen dates
