How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The accommodation needs an upgrade.
The food, which was authentic Greek, was homemade and exceptional. It was really, really good. The accommodation was fine, with plenty of space and a large wet room. The staff were great.

The wi-fi was poor, mostly didnt work at all even though my husband asked, the lady told us it didnt work in that area.
We loved the location, the staff we spoke to were very friendly, the room and bathroom were clean, bed comfy. We didnt have breakfast so cant comment. Lovely little seating area outside each room.

The Star is an old style village pub with lots of character. There are few accommodation rooms out the back, the other side of the car park. Everyone, staff, customers, and people in the street were very welcoming passing the time of day etc. The Restaurant provided an excellent choice and plenty of food on the plate. Breakfast was great value and tasted great.

The lock on the door was confusing. Need a manual!
It was an independent unit, rather than amongst lots of rooms. It was very quiet. Liked the seats outside the chalet. Very relaxed and friendly.

Good but due to owners health issues we could not have breakfast before 9am. We needed to be away by 8.30 at latest so missed one breakfast on last morning.

We couldnt get wifi in the room, it would only connect near the pub, I would suggest getting wifi extension into the rooms as we wanted to connect a laptop to the tv in order to watch movies and were unable to do so.
The accomadation was very spacious and the beds were super comfy! There were a lot of spiders and cobwebs but nothing too overwhelming.

Decor is a bit dated, could do with a bit of modernising.
Convenient location close to an event we were attending. Comfortable beds good shower. Quiet at night. Ideal for a couple of nights.

Friendly welcome. Comfortable bed, hot shower, nicely cooked breakfast. On site parking. Enjoyed the Greek food on evening menu. We had a good relaxing stay.

only minor thing was door key probably wants recut as sticks in lock sometimes, perhaps replace sealant around hot water unit over sink, both minor and not reported to the staff like I should of.
breakfast was excellent as was the service. room was very clean and fitted out well. everything you could wish for. accommodating times for breakfast and not rushed.

We had a birthday meal on Saturday night, with four other family members, and they all said the same thing about the food, could have been better. One thing we all noticed about the menu no English food on offer.
The location was fine, did not have breakfast, as it was not included in the price.

Only one thing which is easy over looked shower gel dispenser empty but don't let this put you off this place is excellent ideal for couples wanting to visit Bridlington but have luxury at fraction of cost of the seaside B&B only 15mins drive from sea front
This place has outstanding food lovely friendly staff nice quite village and quiet sleeping can't praise it enough for cost have stayed in 4stat hotel that are alot worse.
