Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomVery firm bed; not good for arthritic joints!! Stairs are steep and narrow. There is one ground floor accessible en-suite room with a separate entrance from outside, which must be requested in any booking. There is no designated parking.
Quiet village location, off A46, convenient to Leicester and access to various routes. Very good continental breakfast included. Second visit and would recommend. Helpful and pleasant staff who were happy to take up our luggage. Good food in tastefully modernised pub which retains its old (1744) atmosphere. If necessary, request table at top level, for level access from road and to toilet, and excellent continental breakfast buffet.

United Kingdomexcellent breakfast and friendly staff. We even joined in the pub quiz (badly!). Only challenge was no evening meals on Sunday, but they let us order in and eat in the pub.

United KingdomAs we only have a shower at home, I always try to find a place with a bath. The bath was a bit difficult to use, as there was a marble ledge around it and so you couldn't lie back comfortably.
The staff were very accommodating. For example, Sunday lunch finished at 6pm but when I asked if we could have a takeaway pizza, they were more than willing. They even reserved us a table, as there was a quiz on and it was very busy. We were able to get into the room a little earlier. There was a fridge in the room, so we could have fresh milk for tea in the morning. There was air conditioning and the room was clean. We had the continental breakfast on the first morning and there was more than enough choice. It was also very fresh. The second morning my husband had the English breakfast, which you pre-ordered the night before. Not an issue for us. The server reduced the price, as he didn't have everything.

United KingdomNothing really, although it is worth noting that we were in room 1 above an outdoor seating and BBQ area. We were slightly disturbed by staff leaving after their shift. On a warmer, busy evening I could imaging a lot more noise.
This is a comfortable pub in the centre of a nice village. We liked the newly refurbished bedrooms and the facilities. The bed was very comfortable. The pub is traditional in style, serving a good pint of beer. Our dinner was excellent. we would have liked to eat in the bar areas but all tables were occupied. There is a modern bistro style area where we ate and which was very acceptable. The included continental breakfast was a bit sparse but a full cooked breakfast can be ordered the night before at reasonable cost. This was very good. The staff we met were without exception delightful.

AustraliaIroning board was wrong size for the cupboard in the room which was needed for luggage storage of our clothes. Smaller, and it could fit the cupboard neatly, and not be out in the room. We could not open our windows which was a problem to air the room and with your warmer days. We had to leave the door to the street open to ventilate the room.
Quintissential English small village pub at the village green for us Aussies! Location was convenient for visiting and hosting relatives at the Inn, as the meals were excellent. Staff always very helpful. Breakfast in the lovely Bistro Room was great quality too.

United KingdomThe only negative, was either the star inn or booking.com was hacked and I was scammed. I managed to cancel my card, but it was stressful. So additional protections would be good.
We had to leave early so couldn’t make the breakfast and they left us some cereal and yoghurt, which was a nice touch. We also thought the restaurant food and ambience was excellent.

United KingdomI think all breakfast should be included in the room cost,or provide more choices for a 'continental' breakfast. There was a limited choice of cereal, yoghurt and fruit. Pastries, cheese and ham should have been part of the Continental breakfast offered. Cooked breakfast is charged extra.
The fact they let us check into our room early so we could freshen up for a wedding after a 3 hour drive. The room was quiet and the bed was very comfortable. The curtains worked well as blackout curtains. Lovely village location. We didn't get the opportunity to try the bar as we were there only for the one night but it looked lovely. Good bathroom facilities and the shower was powerful. Air conditioner in our room...(room 1) was a bonus. I didn't see a lift but we only had one small flight of stairs and very little luggage. Unsure if they have a ground floor room.

United KingdomNo parking, needed to park on side streets which were busy, it was advertised as breakfast included but finding out this was continental only was a bit of a disappointment as was an extra £12 for full English each. The fan was covered in a thick layer of dust and could do with a bit of a deep clean and cobwebs removed. The room next door must have been trying to connect their phone to the Bluetooth mirror in their bathroom but their songs kept playing through our mirror.
Room was nice, comfy bed, nice atmosphere in the pub and it’s a lovely little village. Shower was lovely and hot and the bathroom nice and modern.

United KingdomNothing.
Absolutely beautiful property. We had two rooms. One on ground floor one on top floor. They are thoughtfully decorated. The suite was beautiful and fantastic value for money. Wish I could face stayed longer. The staff were great too. We were late checking in as it was a last minute booking and travelling over 3 hours. They contacted us and waited for us to arrive. We were 20 minutes later than expected. Thank you for a fab stay. Just wish all rooms in hotels were as nice as this little inn
