Our host Sarah was the star of the show. She made us feel welcome from the very moment we arrived. The team at the Saxon were also all very friendly and helpful. The food and drink was excellent. Our every need was catered for. The ambiance at the Saxon was very nice and all the locals blended in with the guests to make a very enjoyable stay.

Thank you Sarah so so much for your hospitality, you made us feel right at home and as if we were in someone's home rather than at a B&B! Everything was in its right place and everything looked purposefully placed with taste and precision. Talking about taste, those scrambled eggs truly were delicious. We have already recommended you to several people potentially travelling to the area. It was a delight! We will be back again in future.

We stayed with our two small dogs and all of us were made to feel wonderfully welcome by Sarah and her team. The food is superb, both breakfast and dinner are excellent, imaginative, well prepared and all freshly cooked. The rooms although not the largest are well appointed, with a dog 'welcome' box and lovely biscuits to go with the complementary teas and coffees.

The Hanford room was a little too small for a 6ft4 man (my husband) to be fully comfortable, we will book a larger room next time. It was also very very hot!

My room could have had a day blind as felt a bit on show if I had the blind up and was getting g dressed (room overlooks the carpark and pub garden).

We had difficulty making contact on the days the Inn was closed. That was partly our fault as my phone was not set up to accept the message format, otherwise there was nothing not to like

We found the bedroom was quite warm, too warm to comfortably sleep, and not on the hottest of days. The room did cool as the night wore on but the addition of a fan would be most welcome if possible? Although you can pay for breakfast directly, it would be nice if there was a package offered when booking the room. Both points are not criticisms but suggestions, and should not detract from staying at this very homely property.

Friendly and welcoming staff, bedroom very clean and well decorated with quality furnishings and bedding. The pub is situated in a nice quiet location. The downstairs of the pub looked welcoming although we didn't frequent the bar area. Parking was good. A charming little village pub with rooms.

Minor points: The beds (by bad luck we were in a room with single beds, and they were a little bit narrow with slightly rough bedding). WiFi was intermittent.

The atmosphere, the (friendly and efficient) staff, the location and the food (the battered fish was among the best we’ve ever had). Good breakfast too. The on site proprietor (Sarah) is very much on top of things. The waiting staff (Isabel and ?) were superb.

A perfect stay at The Saxon Inn . Super friendly both two and four legged host's . Would highly recommend a stay . The evening meal we had we delicious as well . Good selection for breakfast in the morning nothing is to much trouble . LOVED IT

Very friendly homely staff. Gorgeous oldie world pub. Nothing was too much trouble. Food was extraordinarily good. Our family who joined us for Sunday lunch , who are small holders, were amazed at the quality and taste so that says a lot. Surrounding area was beautiful. Terrifically well organised. Exceptionally clean. Made to feel we were very special. Atmosphere very gentle and welcoming. All the staff were happy and very genuine. Which makes the whole experience very very very, very enjoyable.
