This really was the perfect location for us. The hotel was first class, as was the staff on duty. Highly recommended. We will definitely return on our next visit to Edinburgh.

The staff were very friendly and let us into our room at 9:30 am after travelling for 30 hrs from NZ when we thought they would only hold our bags for us. Bed was comfortable, shower was great and location excellent.

Was a little disappointed being placed on the first floor looking out over an alley and a row of bins. I guess sometimes it's just the luck of it, but we had nicer outlooks on our previous visits.

Really great stay again at The Resident, our third time this year! Rooms are lovely, nice facilities and it's got a cosy vibe. Super clean as expected, comfortable bed and furnishings. Well stocked little kitchen area too. Enjoyed the free 5-6pm drink, and the staff were, as always, really lovely to interact with.

Bed was two single mattresses pushed together. Was expecting a large King. Room was a bit smaller than I'd expected and the bathroom was fairly small.

Everything! Our room was spectacular, the staff was friendly and helpful, the location was fantastic being close to many restaurants and coffee, shops, and places to walk. It was stunning.

The welcome we received from reception (Ed…???) was exceptional - he provided all the details we needed for our stay in an incredibly warm manner. Our room was spotlessly clean, and well appointed. As it was our 10th wedding anniversary, there was a hand-written congratulations card on the table, along with a couple of chocolates - we were also given a corner, castle view room. Lovely touches.

There wasn’t anything I didn’t like, my companion suggested that it would have been nice to have a trolly type thing to carry our bags up to the room in, but that’s the ONLY thing that we can think of, everything was exceptional

The view from the balcony was incredible, exactly as shown in pictures. the service from the staff was brilliant, all had smiles on their faces and they were very helpful

Indoor air was too warm and humid. Air conditioning is marginal. Common areas were uncomfortably warm. Washcloths are not a thing in Scotland I guess.

King bed Room was compact, but had all the essentials. Kitchenette was perfect! Fragrant high quality toiletries were lovely! Dressing table was wonderful! Staff are professional, welcoming and courteous. Appreciated safe, hotel security. Bedding was basic, but nice. Beds were comfortable. Hotel was pristine clean.

Me and my partner stayed for a couple of nights and loved it! The staff were friendly from the moment you step foot and made our stay enjoyable. The room is a little small but lovely, it has everything you need and we couldn’t hear any outside noise. The location is perfect and everything is walkable. Would recommend for sure!

Excellent location, within a stroll from Princes Street but yet away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Lots of quality cafes serving excellent food just around the corner. In the hotel, the lounge area is cosy and welcoming. Complimentary evening drinks were a nice touch. But above all, the staff are friendly, smiling and helpful. They add the charm to this lovely hotel. Thank you!
