Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Kingdom2nd time staying here and was given a complimentary upgrade. Very much appreciated the gesture and extra space, however, it meant the room was right by the main road, which made it impossible to sleep due to the noise levels. From memory, the smaller rooms (the type I originally booked) are located toward the rear of the building, which made for a much more restful night. Something to keep in mind if you need to get a good nights sleep.
Excellent location, right next to Paddington, making further travel to Heathrow Airport super convenient. Room featured a very comfy bed and great shower facilities. Staff were polite and welcoming.

Location is very good, next to Paddington station. Also, walking distance to Hyde Park.

United StatesRoom W44 is tiny. TINY. No space to hang anything, in fact no closet or drawers or fridge or anything. The black metal piping was hanging off the sink in my room. The room opposite mine was BLASTING their TV from 9pm onwards, like so loud if was affecting me being able to hear my own.
The room was ready for me hours before I had meant to check in. I had assumed I would only be allowed to drop my cases, then come back later for my room (as had been the situation before, with quite a snippy member of staff). This time after 24 hours with no sleep and a redeye flight, I was able to get a hot shower and a quick nap in my room at 12pm.

United StatesFor me, I did not like whole check in yourself. It was a bit chaotic at points. Though I chose this place to try something new not sure I would recommend the self-checkin thing. If you do decide to go for it, checkin before you arrive onto the property.

TurkeyThe rooms are a bit small. There is a faucet in the middle of the room, meaning the faucet is not in the bathroom but inside the room.
The location of the hotel is very good. It was very easy to reach the hotel. There are plenty of restaurants around. The breakfast was very nice. The beds were comfortable. The room was cleaned every day.

United KingdomIt was a little noisy at night from people outside but that can’t be helped it’s London at the end of the day!
It was literally a 2min walk coming out of Paddington station which was amazing. Lovely comfortable bed. Has a little lounge area on the 2nd floor where you can grab drinks and coffees etc. There was a little pantry where guest could help themselves to make and coffee / read a book. The staff were lovely and so polite. We were able to leave our bags till our room was ready and the same for the next day when we checked out we could leave our bags.

United KingdomBathroom was a bit on the small size and the room quite dark and very warm, even though there was a fan in the room, no air con unfortunately as it’s an old building. I would definitely stay here again if the price was right.
Lovely boutique hotel, room was nice and clean and bed was very comfy. Great location, Hotel was right across the road from Paddington station.

United StatesMy only negative was the room had zero breeze. The window was open and I know the air was cold outside. But when they say London doesn’t sleep maybe they shouldn’t jack hammer at midnight.
The ambience inside was very chill and eclectic. Beautiful staircase leads up in a maze with Lou ge areas scattered throughout the levels. The rooms we small but very comfortable in the setting.

United KingdomIt was so hot in our tiny room! There was no air con & only one plug socket (in the whole room) so we had to stretch the fan chord to plug it in & then try to not trip over it when going to the toilet!! It wasn’t very comfortable.
It’s a really lovely hotel, decorated beautifully and a nice vibe.

AustraliaThe room was a bit dated and very small. Although I did choose a small room it was impractically small and the design was tricky to be able to move about in or have any luggage.

AustraliaWe were there during another heatwave and the rooms don’t have aircon. While you could cool down by having the window open and the fan blaring, sometimes having the windows open meant you could hear the loud outside noises and pigeons waking you up.
Clean, relatively comfortable, and a nice communal space. We were grateful for the water station and in an area full of chain coffee/restaurants, it was nice to have good Monmouth coffee in the coffee shop downstairs. Paddington is otherwise really well connected, close to the beautiful Little Venice, and not too far from the lovely Notting Hill.

New ZealandThere were no in room tea/coffee facilities and I was not told that tea and coffee was available from pantries set up on each floor, though I found this myself on the second day of my stay. Still these pantries did not have milk, just a note to say guests should go downstairs to ask for some. It would have been a lot nicer to have in room facilities or at the very least have fridges with milk in the pantries.
It was very well located. It had character and was nicely fitted out.
