How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

It is quite old so some creaking floorboards but all part of the charm!
Large room, large bed, clean and well-maintained bathroom. Very friendly and attentive staff. Nicely kept gardens.

The bedroom could do with a lick of paint and some fresh silicone but it was still clean and comfortable.
Staff were really friendly and took the time to say hello to our dog (and give him sausages). Food was good, had a sunday lunch and the breakfast. Checking in and out was straightforward. Huge carpark and beer garden. Would definitely stay again!

Windows didn't open far enough even though we were on the ground floor.
The location of the room with a dog was perfect. The window could have open a little more as it was restricted making the room very hot at night. Very good meal in the restaurant and breakfast was very good.

Although out of the pub's control, the traffic going passed it seemed to last forever and depressingly we even missed the turn off for it so had to turn around and rejoin the traffic going back into town. So if visiting keep an eye out for the entrance to the car park as it was well hidden by traffic when we arrived
The pub was in a good location for everything in Lyndhurst. We were greeted by who we assumed was the manager and the bar manager, both of whom couldn't have been more helpful and the manager even explained the best places to visit for food and drink while in Lyndhurst of we didn't want to eat there both nights. We did choose to eat there the first night and the food was lovely. The room was also very comfortable and met our needs for a family of 4. Overall a very nice stay.

The rooms are dated, the biggest issue is no shelf to put toiletries in the bathroom (room 9). This needs resolving. The winter weight duvet was far too hot for summer and needs a different one.
Dan and Luke were extremely welcoming and friendly. This is our 4th stay here and the location is perfect for attending Beaulieu Supercar Weekend with a large, safe car park for our Classic cars. The bed was clean and comfortable. The outside area is lovely for a cool drink after a long hard, hot day.

Beds a bit small, We are not big people and our double was snug! Also just a tiny thing but we changed rooms which was fine but the chap who showed us to our last room didn’t offer help with our bags. My husband is 89. I am in my seventies and we were really tired- which we told him. A little bit of empathy goes a long way. However generally the staff were absolutely great and very helpful.

Nothing we didn’t like but could have done with a small table to put in front of the sofa for coffee or drinks 😁 when reading or watching tv.
Location was perfect in Lyndhurst to explore The New Forest & to visit The New Forest Show. Nice big room. Beds were very comfortable. Your staff were excellent.

Room was tired and needs a bit of upgrading. Slamming of doors!
The staff were all excellent and Bunny was a star. Unfortunately our stay was spoiled by the slamming of doors at unearthly early hours each say we stayed.
