Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomAccommodation was great, clean, well equipped with everything you need, unlimited tea, biscuits etc. Easy to park on the street outside. We really appreciated that the room was ready when we turned up 3 hours before check-in. Also easy to get back in late, as you have a front door key. Didn't have breakfast but is smelled great! Recommended.

United KingdomLynn and her daughter are adorable people and so friendly. On the whole, the property is in fine condition and in a convenient situation for the prom and tram. Nothing to do with the B & B but the tram fares are extortionate. The £10 all day anywhere deal is good value but more emphasis on this should be made by tram staff on buying tickets. The breakfast at the hotel was brilliant. The room was very small but probably sufficient for 1 night. I have nothing bad to say about our experience and our little dog Dexter was welcomed with open arms which is brilliant. Would we stay again? Probably not if we planned on more than one night but yes if it was just overnight. I do think a bottle.of fresh milk in the fridge would be a good thing as the ling life milk provided is pretty awful. All in all, we loved the place and the owners and wish them every success in.the future.

Very homely… all of us were comfortable including Frank🐶. The host (Lynn) were so accommodating. She will make sure you have everything you need.🥰

Everything. The welcome was amazing. The hotel is beautiful. The bedside are so comfortable. The dogs were made so very welcome and comfortable...options available for dog sitting etc, we didn't use those but would have felt comfortable if we had needed to. Location is lovely, close enough to the Blackpool attractions, but far enough too.

United KingdomThere’s nothing not to like!
Never know where to start when looking for a place to stay in Blackpool, there’s so many hotels at varying cost! We have a rather large German Shepherd, he goes everywhere with us, so it’s difficult to find decent dog friendly establishments. This place has it all…Lynne and her team have not only created a beautiful boutique establishment for you to stay in, they actually are dog people and your four legged companions matter too!!! What a result, the jewel in the crown of Blackpool! Hospitality and hosting bang on🥰! Location perfect for walking your dog🙂. Not in the centre, peaceful, but close enough to experience the attractions of Blackpool if you want to. We were presented with such a lovely breakfast in the conservatory, - great quality ingredients ❤️. I can’t say anymore except we’ve found our “home from home” in Blackpool🥰 We just loved it!!

United KingdomOnly being really nit picky as it’s asking the question but the bathroom just had a couple of holes in the wall next to the thermostat I just felt really conscious about water going into the wall but it wouldn’t sway me from coming again.
Easy parking, close to tram. Thick walls so no noise, helpful owner. Fridge with water. Clean and welcoming aesthetics.

United KingdomThe hotel was beautifully decorated downstairs and felt very cozy and relaxed. Dog friendly is a big plus for us, towels and balls were also on hand for our furry friends. Lynn was a lovely host, very helpful and informative. She couldn't do enough for us. Lynn offers a dog sitting service, which was wonderful and very much appreciated. We love the location as it's far enough away from the bustle.of the centre. Quick and easy access to the beach, trams and buses. We will definitely be going back again. Thank you.

United KingdomThere was nothing to dislike about The Mayfield.
Such a beautiful place, decorated & furnished beautifully a really pretty place, i felt like I wanted to take my shoes off when I walked through the door it was that homely and clean. What a lovely lady, Lynn the host, she was very welcoming she showed us to our rooms and explained a few things then left us right to it but was on a hand, a phone call or text away if you needed her for anything. The bedrooms and bathrooms are lovely clean and fresh, again lovely quirky rooms with drink making facilities a fridge for longer stays and a tv. I had a great night's sleep it was quiet inside and outside too. I didn't bring my dog but what a bonus it is to be able to bring your dog along too If needs be, there's a little table as you walk in with some doggy towels for wet paws and a bowl of tennis balls for them which I thought was so cute. All in all we have had a brilliant stay it was only for one night, unfortunately, I could have stayed a few more nights easily, it was a group of us that came to stay and everyone felt exactly the same about the place, excellent value for money and although it's not bang in the centre of Blackpool The Mayfield is next to the tram stop that takes you straight into Blackpool, literally 5 minutes on the tram if that and it cost £3.50 but it's also very walkable on a lovely day. All in all I cannot knock this place it's been a fantastic stay and hats off to you Lynn you have a beautiful place and I wouldn't be surprised if you don't see some of us again. Thankyou for our lovely stay.
