United KingdomNo mention was made before booking about the steep steps and strong fire doors to the loft, where our room was located, especially trying when carrying a case. Meals were ok, however quantity of cooked breakfast varied from day to day.
Hotel location is very good, room was tidy and clean. Car park was excellent, level and always easy to park.

United KingdomThe room was small and the shower power switch was also for the towel rail so, particularly on a hot day and with no aircon in the room using the bathroom was more like being in a sauna!
Staff were very friendly and professional and it is in a beautiful location. Food - both dinner and breakfast were excellent.

FranceFirst room (No7) was by the boilers and was noisy all night. Moved us to another room without any fuss. Rooms are very small and stuffy in warmer weather. Bathroom was very cramped. Need more hooks on the back of the bathroom door. Menu for vegetarian food was limited.
Excellent location by the river. Great walks. Dog welcome in all areas of the hotel and well provided for in the room. Staff warmed up to us over the three days. Receptionist personally picked up our paper every day. Chef made a very good effort to provide alternate vegetarian food. Very good breakfasts. Comfortable bed. Good shower.

United KingdomThe bed was rather soft, so no good for back pain sufferers. Access to the deluxe rooms is via stairs in the main building that are somewhat awkward. Our room, number 22, was above the pub and was noisy at times. Next time we will book a standard room in the modern annexe that is also in a quieter location, albeit without the stunning river views.
Would definitely rate this hotel for its location and the standard of food. The room had far reaching views over the river.

Food was nice, although not enough staff to assist customers - it was all a bit chaotic. Definitely more staff required as staff were short and punchy - I’d imagine to being stressed (especially certain bar staff). Excellent location. Good parking facility. Check in staff very helpful.

United KingdomThe hot water as above. Not everyone likes coffee machine coffee and sachets of ordinary coffee would have been nice to have.
Chose the location as we had visited the area many years ago when we had a caravan and wanted to go back and stay in Bucklers Hard. The food was excellent with a good choice of meals. The room was well laid out and very comfortable though the hot water in the taps and shower was very temperamental with the shower just stopping on occasions!
