How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

When we first arrived at 2 30, there was no body in reception. We then saw a man whom we had to approach and asked if reception was manned. He stated yes it's me, (he was the owner) he was very rude and stated," it's 2.30. Check-in is at 3, and you will have to come back later. We are very busy putting a delivery away. " I didn't even dare ask him about parking or if they had a luggage room as he came across very angry. We went away and came back 2 hrs later. Luckily, we then had a woman who was kind and talkative. (Owners wife) we then went to our room. And oh my God, it was awful. It was on the top floor and was meant to be dog friendly. It certainly was not dog friendly. The window was a big bay window that the dogs could have easily gotten out of. It was a hot summer day. The window needed to be open, but we couldn't as it was too unsafe for the dogs. The room was the worst room I've ever stayed in. The wallpaper was falling off. The hair dryer was that old it smelt of fire when you turned it on and was smoking. The electrics looked unsafe and again were about 100 years old and definitely needed to be looked at. The bathroom was mouldy and leaking. The room was not fit for dogs, let alone humans. The hotel had no food facilities. ( which is probably a good thing). On check out, we wanted to speak with the owners regarding our stay, and we felt more comfortable doing this on our last day. But when the owners arrived at 10.30, we got a frosty reception from them both. Again, before this time, the reception is unmanned. Apparently, we were told by others that staying in the hotel their room was also awful, but this couple had only just taken it over. I said I get that it takes time to build a place up, but basic manners cost nothing. The male owner certainly should not be in front of the house. He was miserable and very rude. We were two women staying with 1 child and dogs, and we felt uncomfortable with him.

Verified reviewClose proximity to the pier, shops, bars, cafe and restaurants. Close to great orme tram station. Beds were comfortable and to a good size. Good communication from staff via Booking.com app prior to stay.
Very dated. No facilities beyond the basis. Holes in floor boards covered by flooring tiles. Towel rail hanging off the wall. Unable to open window as pulley system had snapped. Walls are thin and could her guests in the next room. Conscious they could probably hear my boys as well. No daily house keeping.

Verified reviewThere was no breakfast. Location is the best part of the hotel as it is central to most attractions.
The facilities were not safe to use and the owner is not equipped to manage a hotel. The shower was broken and either too hot or too cold to the point that I was burnt by the water as it would shift in temperature without touching the dial. I alerted staff who spoke to maintenance on the phone who stated the shower was “temperamental”. I was told to request a refund from Booking.com which I did but went unanswered. I contacted them directly to then be accused of lying by the owner. Completely unethical, unprofessional and immoral. Do not waste your money here. I also raised other issues which were again ignored. It should be shut down.
Hi. We can only apologise that you were not satisfied with your stay. It does state ''no meal option'' on booking.com. Once we have refurbished our rooms and the kitchen, then we will be offering breakfast. I can only apologise about the shower, once we were made aware of this issue it was quickly rectified the following day with a brand new shower. I am not to sure what other issues were raised as you have not stated it here. We have only owned the hotel for 7 weeks and for sure we are going to come across teething issues which I can assure you are rectified as quickly as possible. We sincerely hope that once refurbishments are made throughout, that you would book again. We can only apologise for your stay not being what you had hoped. I am not to sure who you had dealt with, but I can assure you as a team we all aim to give fantastic customer service throughout everyone's stay. I do hope you will visit again. Kind regards

Parking was an issue. Very dated room.
Hi there. We can only apologise that you thought the room was dated. As we head in to our quieter time, we aim to do a full refurb on every room to improve on this. August is a busy period here in Llandudno which brings many people for either days out or for a mini break. We do not offer parking at the hotel and it is just on a first come first serve basis. First thing no have staff in reception am waiting 20 minutes outside said than another guest come and open hotel main gate after no hai any one staff there I bell and shout anybody here but no one reply after I call hotel number nobody receive call after come message than find room . The parking situation made me very anxious as it was so busy and you only got an hour and half free on the side street with no return in 60 mins however by 18.00 once it began to quieten down we could get park outside of the hotel

Hotel and rooms a bit tired, no breakfast avaikable

We will be updating the kitchen to be able to start serving breakfast and also more exciting things happening throughout.
