Beautiful quirky interior. Excellent welcome and attention from host. Very good breakfast in a relaxed atmosphere. The dining experience in the pub in the evening meant we could drink without driving. Good, nicely prepared food.. Very clean in both bedroom and public spaces. Free parking. Well situated in a small village, near to places of interest in the Cotswolds.

Staying at "The Lion" was a wonderful experience. The staff was truly kind and welcoming. They accommodated all my dietary needs (gluten-free and vegetarian). The gluten-free beer was delicious! The room was comfortable and cozy, with a small window overlooking the internal garden. It was a real pleasure. The parking was very convenient, and the location is perfect for visiting the Cotswolds.

United KingdomBreakfast was a bit disappointing. We were verbally offered cereal ("not sure what, maybe muesli?"), bacon bap, some little croissants "maybe". Ended up with yoghurt, fruit and little toast. Even if they don't put out a buffet it would have been better to get a short menu card with choices.
Welcoming staff. Quiet pub with a very clean room. Ample free parking. Nice garden to sit out in if the weather's good.

The owner and his family are just so wonderful. They made you feel at home immediately. Nothing was too small or large for them. The food was exceptional and the rooms were extremely beautiful.

United KingdomBreakfast was good quality but a minor thing, I think more of a choice would have been better rather than just bacon rolls and a continental option. Saying that, it was no big issue really tbh just our personal taste.
We had 2 nights staying here in June 2025. It's a great pub rammed full of character in a really good location. Just right for visiting the Cotswolds and surrounding area. The host, evening meals and accommodation were really good. Great value for money too. Stay here if you can.
