Changing room and showers in the SPA needs upgrading, with separate cold water tap and a plunge pool.

Bathroom door had self-closing mechanism and would not stay open easily. Room layout was a bit awkward with a lot of space lost. Bathroom tiny.

Car park conveniently located at back of hotel. Good breakfast. Easy check in.

1. No mattress or pillow covers which really surprised me as the bed looked new 2. Tea and coffee could be on a small tray instead of stuffed in the cups 3. Public areas were grotty, the carpets in particular on the corridors and stairwell. I didn't want to touch the handrails or doors as very grimy. Walls and skirting in our room very dirty/dusty. Shower tray/trap mouldy. 4.Outside car park covered in rubbish, fag ends and broken glass, window boxes full of dead plants, not a great first impression. 5. Fire exit steps to the rooms very high [hubby has Parkinsons) and he struggled. I think money would have been better spent on improving what's there and not wasted on a Spa which no one ever uses.... However despite all of these niggles it's great value for money and yes we would stay again. The staff are lovely, work hard with nothing to much trouble. Food is amazing for such a small hotel. 😋

Lovely welcoming kind staff. The food is amazing and piping hot with lots of choice at breakfast. Bed comfortable and great shower with nice touch of fluffy bathrobe and toiletries. Easy parking, great location. Brilliant access to the moors, Big Pit, Abergavenny, Valleys, the sun shone, and we had a lovely couple of days especially at Keepers Pond and the Blorange summit/Fochabers. The Heather all in brilliant purple flower. All in all a great visit down memory lane for us. We can remember the hotel when it was a run down pub back in our youth so great to see time and effort and cash put in to turn it around

No fault of the property but someone tried to get in to our room in the night and a lot of slamming doors. So didn't sleep well.

Room wasn’t very clean. Coffee marks next to bed. Toiletries used ones left there. Only decafe tea bags. Sink slow letting water out which was a pain. Fan on in toilet all night which was annoying.

The bathroom door was very heavy and the automatic light was a good idea but disturbing in the night to the person sleeping facing the bathroom door.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good. The hotel was very accessible from the parking area. From the outside the hotel looks a bit dated but is surprisingly modern and clean inside.

We arrived Sunday 245. A little too late too get settled in time for food. Very little in the area open due to being a Sunday. Room small and got very hot ( even with fan on).

Health suite looked lovely although we didn't use due to lack of time. Breakfast was good. Staff very good, professional and friendly. Room clean and nice selection of hot drinks and toiletries.

Very small thing but the outside of property (while perfectly OK), does not do the inside justice.

Lovely clean room and hotel were happy to move us to a room with a shower as the originally allocated room had a bath. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast cooked to order and very nice.

Bedroom a good size with comfortable bed. Secondary double glazing - very quiet despite on road. Great shower and nice big bath sheet. Good choice at breakfast. Great location for Big Pit colliery museum. Welcoming and friendly staff.
