Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomI didn't like the fact our room was facing on to the entrance and people cold sit right outside our window and have a drink. The room location was not the best. Being a light sleeper I heard everything all night and by 5am I was up!! Not so relaxing when it was the only lay in I was going to get lol.
The room was a decent size. The fact they allowed dogs was the draw for me. Breakfast included in the room price was a big bonus. Bailey our four legged baby, was hungry and instead of both my partner and I having breakfast we asked if the chef could do sausages and bacon for him, which he kindly did. My bacon was well over cooked but the rest was tasty. You could order what you liked from the menu for breakfast and you could eat it in your room. We ate outside in the gardens where we could hear the sheep and the enjoy the countryside.

United KingdomI just thought it was a bit tired, some if the tables and surfaces and door handles were a bit sticky and needed a deep clean
Lovely traditional hotel pub and restaurant, we had the first floor room No.11 which was large , clean with good views over the village. The bathroom could do with a deep clean but was acceptable. Staff were friendly and professional. Breakfasts was good.

United KingdomThe staff member who checked us in was unsure where the room was.The room wasn't as clean as it could have been, very dusty. The online menu, the in room menu, and the restaurant menu were all different. Had an issue with an excessive amount of salt on my dinner. Brought to the attention of the chef/ manager who sent a member of staff to tell me there was nothing wrong with it. No apology received. Very inexperienced staff all walking past our table looking at my abandoned dinner then at me ,then returning to the bar . Eventually, a young lad who had no interaction with us for the entire meal was, I think, elected to come and retrieve our plates. I genuinely felt sorry for him. Our wedding anniversary meal was ruined.
Stayed at the King's Arms before,it's a great location. The breakfast was great, and the service received from Liv was exceptional. I must add that we weren't charged for my evening meal but had to point it out on the invoice to get it removed. Still no apology from the manager.

United KingdomThe furnishings and fittings in the bedroom, while perfectly serviceable, were beginning to look a little tired, but overall it was still a very enjoyable stay.
We stayed two nights and found the hotel very comfortable, with everything we needed for a relaxing visit. The breakfast was excellent and set us up perfectly for the day. A short but thoroughly enjoyable stay!

Netherlands2 things to improve; - In our room (10)the shower was not working as it supposed to work. When you start the shower a machine had to do the work so the water could finds it way to the showerhead. I did not shower so long but the water tank was within a few minutes empty so my son had to wait for the next morning for his shower. - look also under the beds when cleaning the room. There was a lot op rubbish left from the former gast.
Really good food and service.

United KingdomFirstly I should tell you that I'm a conference agent so I'm looking at hotels and venues all day every day! The shower in my room (10) was very tired and extremely noisy. I hate any velour soft furnishings in hotels - so didn't like the cushions or the bedspread which desperately need updating. The bed linen was fine and the pillows were comfortable. The room was quiet although it looked out over the car park. Some of the decor in the hotel is tired and needs a refresh but it had a nice atmosphere and the staff were all really nice and helpful.
I had dinner at the hotel on the evening I arrived which was really good. The breakfast was also very nice.
